Clutch replacement
I have an 03 CL-S6. I need and honest opinion of just how difficult it would be to replace it. The dealership said it would be about $1300 to have them do it. I don't want to spend that kind of money on a clutch. I guess I just need some advice; what should I do?

That's a bit high. But parts alone are $600-700. Buy the parts online cheaper & ask how much the labor would be.
Any shop that works on imports can do it. Only thing someone has to look out for is there's a special tool for compressing the pressure plate. The service manual warns if it's not used it's a very bad thing. However some have reported not using it & they seem to be ok.
If you really want a dealer to do it shop around. Even go to a Honda dealer. Honda dealers usually have better prices.

Yeah the CL mechanical aspects shouldn't be unfamiliar territory for any mechanic worth a grain of salt. It is pretty much identical to Hondas and if mechanics don't know how to work on Hondas...they should find a new career. Shops that can do a clutch replacement on a Honda Accord (read: almost all) should be able to do the job for you, so shop around a bit.
