Center Console Lid, Door Rust?
Been having a lovely time over the last month with my new-to-me 03 CLS 6spd....today, however, is a new day apparently. To start, the upper lid (arm rest portion) of my center console no longer stays closed, as the latch that is pulled up on to open the lid completely snapped, leaving behind nothing to keep the top lid from swinging open at all times. Is there an easy fix to this, is the top lid (arm rest) easily replaceable or repaired? Is this a common problem on CL's of this vintage?
Additionally, upon further investigation doing my daily car wash here in salt-ridden Western New York, I noticed that on the driver's door where the molding extends outward about halfway down, that rust is beginning to form underneath the paint. I know that the paint is less than adequate on these cars, as everytime I wash I notice new scratches (not exaggerating either, literally every wash I discover new to-the-primer defects). Is there anything that can be done besides body-colored touch up paint?
Thanks!

Numbers 13 and 14 for the latch for the armrest. Mine wouldn't close at all when I first got the car, then I noticed two of the four screws holding the entire lid on were missing and the other two were loose.
As for the rust, mine has some issues with that as well. Under my weatherstripping on the top of the doors it is bubbling. Im going to contact Acura and see about having the fix that. If I can recall correctly, there is a 5 year rust warranty (I've gotta check my manual for that though).
I don't have any down to the primer scratches, but Acura/Honda paint is VERY soft, which sucks. Alot.

Thanks for the quick replies....I did see the one on ebay, and almost bought it, until I realized/was informed that I could just replace the faulty latch, which appears to have seperate screws to affix it.
That being said, does anyone know where I can order said latch?

Or print out the pricing from the link above and see if your local dealer will price match.
