Can a ballast CAUSE a bulb to go out?
So a couple weeks ago I got a lot of water in my left headlight. I took it out, opened it up and re-sealed it. As I was putting it back together, I noticed the ballast had water in it (WHO THE F*CK DESIGNED AN UNSEALED BALLAST TO BE PLACED INVERTED UNDER A HEADLIGHT?!? - end short rant). I dried out the ballast as best as possible, but after putting the bulbs back in, that evening, the left side bulb went out. If i turn the lights off and back on, they'll both stay on for 10 mins then the left will flicker and go out again. (Also, a side note, one time months ago, the left bulb randomly went out once but never did it again til last week)
I swapped the bulbs left to right, right to left, expecting the same left side to go out... but NO, the right side bulb went out (meaning it's the bulb)... These were both fairly new bulbs I bought from a local shop in July. Talked to the shop and they're getting me 2 new bulbs next week (yay for lifetime warranty). Now my question, as stated in the title... Even though the ballast is working, could it have caused the bulb to go out?

yes a ballast can cause a bulb to go out if it got spiked.....but most likely you need to replace the ballast
