Adding Brake Fluid

This is a simple question for a 2001 CL Type-S. I need to add some brake fluid to the master cylinder. I assume the correct way to open the cap is to press down and turn the cap counterclockwise while pushing down.

The Brake light indicator came on a few times while driving and it went out immediately as soon as I stepped on the brakes. I bought some brake fluid and tried to add some fluid while outside in a suit in 10 degree weather. Obvioulsy, I was not in my work clothes so I couldn't get into the engine compartment too far.

I tried the press down and turn method but the cap did not want to budge. Now that the car is inthe garage and I will give it another try tomorrow, I was wondering if I am trying to remove the cap correctly before I try to force it.
