60 mph front wheel shakes...faster or slower it goes away
I have no problem throwing parts at this, but I'd just like to get a bit of advice.
260k 6MT
I tried different wheels and tires.
The issue is only at around 60mph. Faster 70 and up its fine. Below 60 is fine.
Does it sound like a wheel bearing? Axle?
thanks

Burning Brakes
what do you mean by front wheel? how do you feel it? in the steering wheel?
I had a shaking/vibration in my steering wheel at those speeds on the highway, I had replaced my axles with some rebuilt cardone brand and found that they were trash. I replaced those with oem (with dampeners) and it went away. car is smooth at 80+ mph now.
Prior to that I felt a lot of looseness and much more significant vibration because of worn inner/outer tie rods (they were original) and I had 200K miles on my car.
if you've ruled out wheels; swapped front to rear and checked for bent wheels with a feeler gauge I would look at the two items I mentioned above.

I'll have to inspect the tie rods.
To pass inspection I had to change an axle. (Only did 1)
So, I'll have to check a few things out.
Thanks for your response

Hey I'm noticing the same shakiness on my 01 base CL. Did you find what was causing it?
