01 CL Type S ~ Trans wrks perfect D4 but D5 not so much.
Hello,
Im new to community. Any insite on why my 01 CL Type S works perfectly in D4 however in D5 shakes/studders at end of gear prior to shifting into 3rd and 4th. If i time it and release the gas pedal just before shifting no problems. But again in D4 works perfectly. Any insite or ideas on how to DIY fix it would b great |
Sorry to hear you are having this issue. Don't know of a DIY. Unless you aren't able to, I would check with a trusted honda/acura local mechanic to take a look.

have you replaced fluid recently?
|
drain, fill drive around the block, repeat 2 more times.

Thanks for the post and the info. I have the same issue with my 01 CL (Not type S-Though I want to do an engine swap). I normally keep mine in D4 until I hit 80 mph, and then switch to D5. As long as I keep the speed above 80 mph the car rides smoothly. 75 mph and the car starts shaking and stuttering, then it's back to D4. More power and response, but killer on gas

You guys need to do the 100 percent ATF exchange and replace the external trans filter.. See the link below.
https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...ission-943471/ If the problem persists after following the instructions in the link then it's time to start replacing solenoids. |
Same Problem :(

Replace the following
1. Shift C solenoid. 2. Pressure A/B solenoid, O-rings, gasket. 3. Pressure C solenoid. Assuming you've checked the filters for debris under #2 and #3. |

I'm having the exact same problem, D5 is horrible in my car, shakes, jerks, studders, so I leave it in d4 until 45mph and shift to d5. I did the proper transmission flush with the proper fluid and changed the external filter and still have the same problem.
Correction, I think I might of misread your question. My last Post #8 above is for issues shifting in 4-5/5-4 gears. If that's not your symptoms pleasure elaborate in full detail? |
