Please rate, but dont hate...

The SOHC VTEC decals I put on the side of the car look good, but please let me know whether I should take those front bumper SIDE SPLITTERS off or not. They are only on there with 3M tape until I make a final decision. I just don't know if I like them...

Leave them on and see how long they rub themselves off on something.

Did you close your hood on something? It seems to have a bump.

noob question, but what's the purpose and function of the splitter? I've seen yours and Rajca's and I don't quite get it.

Chances are you wont like my comments based on your thread title.

Paint and wheels are definitely clean as another user already stated.
But those winglets/splitter definitely needs to go. Replace it with an under body splitter-type front lip.

Id also paint that grill insert white and ditch those vtec logos. BecauseLuxuryCar not racecar.

I would have to disagree on ditching the SOHC VTEC decals, they actually look factory and clean. Also I think painting the grill white is ricey, the black goes with the headlights. Now for the splitters, yes I think im taking them off. I originally wanted the 99 tl lip, but impossible to find unless you buy it new for $250 which I will probably end up doing.

The black looks far more rice than white would.
They come polished stock so Id go back to that first and for most if you want to avoid looking rice.
White would be a good clean alternative and most people wouldn't even notice it.

Black however stands out like a sore thumb on anything other than a black car.

The matte black makes it worse in my opinion.

If I had a CL Id be going down a route like these.
I think this is the best

Clean as fuck right there. Polished trim to stunt that luxury feel with a blacked out insert but left the badge nice and polished. Perfect!

White trim with the rest left stock. Very clean.

But if you dont like the badge and insert then you need to go this route to keep that clean CL-S look.

As for the SOHC decals. I just like the OEM look. Im all for adding body work that compliments the stock body lines. Im all for new lighting set ups, aggressive wheels, deck lids, roof spoilers, etc etc. But I just feel non oem stickers are out of place.

I dont own an CL so tell me if I am wrong, but unless the CL-S stock comes with the decals Id just leave them off.

BUT YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM ON and those decals dont look too bad at all in grey. If you got them in red it would be a different story.
Maybe you could pick up one of those 2006 sti front lips and fab it to fit like I did my ILX. Would look killer in my opinion.

I don't think the issue with the decals is the quality of installation, but that they're ostentatious (variable valve timing is not a unique feature that warrants real estate on a car these days) and are prone to negative attention (applying VTEC decals on a car that didn't come with them is considered archetypical ricer behavior to some). They're a trademark of Civic Sis, yet those guys are heckled for it, especially since the Si slid into the lower order of sport compact performance over the course of the last decade. Not saying you should take them off. . .that's obviously not my call. Just giving you some outside perspective.

The stance and the wheels are outstanding, though. What size are those?

Sorry USDMJON, I thought you were referring to paint the mesh part of the grill white. Thats why i said that would be ricey. As far as the trim, yes I'll paint that white. And the side splitters are coming off...i can put them in my garden as borders to separate the mulch...

Youtube "CL SQUAD in the bay area" look at the black CL, thats where i got the idea for the Decals. The white one in that video has them towards the front which doesnt look good.

I like the white and black theme. It looks good on all cars, especially when the black parts are carbon fiber.

I would ditch the stickers and side splitters. I know you want to be unique but anyone looking at it just thinks "rice".

I am assuming that is the c mod grille? Do you have any better pics showing fitment. When I test fit one on my car the fitment was awful.

I think the grey stickers on the white look really good. I would think ricey at all since they are not a bright color, they look OEM and just give a different look. plus there is a lot of people that have never seen a CL and wouldn't know the difference. as far the splitters they look horrible imo

I already took the splitters off and added some more structure for the bass in my lake by chucking them....i agree though, the decals do look good. Besides they are a light grey color so they arent really noticeable.

I disagree with usdmjon on the fake chrome trim and the cl being a luxury car not a racecar.

First the fake chrome trim is the worst. Body color or black is where it is at.

As for this car being a luxury car: It was considered an entry level luxury car 12 years ago. There is nothing really still luxurious about it.

My cl is a racecar.

I painted all the chrome the first day of owning the cl. Personally, I hate the chrome trim on every car.

I'm liking the stickers in gray and its placement.
The splitters did not do it for me with the side shots. Up front however, looked pretty good along with the hood bump.

Hey cocoa. Are you stripping your 2nd gen cl too or just daily driving it?

I know about your 1st gen cl. For some reason I thought you purchased a 2nd gen or 3rd gen tl since then.

i like the front view of the splitters but the side looks awkward, if you could find ones that go back towards the wheel and have a 90 degree angle on the end it might look good. and id say keep the SOHC VTEC. looks clean

I already ditched the splitters. I agree though, from the front it looks good but they stop too soon on the sides. They also looked very cheap.
