What does everyone think? (Dirty upper intake manifold?)

As the title states...just wanna hear what everyone else is doing, what you guys are using to clean this:

Was trying to get my IAC valve out for an inspection/cleaning but couldnt get that damn star shape type screws off!!! Then i went to remove this and saw some build up of oil/gunk...

^used a tiny bit of wd40 on a clean cloth and used my finger tips to temporarily clean out the build up

Carb cleaner and a tooth brush if needed.
I would also remove the rubber butterfly seal while spraying chemicals around.
