Pics from the SCCA autocross event (no 56k)

Thought I would share a couple of pics from today's event here in North Charleston, SC was a lot of fun but hotter than hell.

P.S. for those who have never auto-crossed, the green cones that are on their sides are arrows for the next apex. I'm not that horrible. haha.

Knocked a cone down on this one

The next three are horrible quality and I don't know what went wrong.

Again....

Lastly...

Also, I may post some video links on youtube as well, all depending on the quality of them.

What mode did you use you tranny in when racing? SS, Gate or did you just leave it in auto.

How you do feel the car did? Understeer? Oversteer?

Why are they so huge? They are off of a BMW M3 and there headlights are even smaller than ours. Also, the shrouds are pretty big and there is not enough room for bigger ones, what you see is the ring for the angel eyes.

And for the fog lights they are off a Lexus ES300 and work awesome. I just have to figure out a better way to mount them. Thanks for the input though!

Good question and did not use the Auto left it in SS mode which sucked because we cant downshift from 2nd to 1st in SS mode.

However, SS mode works awesome since you never shift out of 2nd and dont have to worry about shifting from 1st to 2nd.

Gate is really the way to go, because you can downshift from 2nd to 1st which is critical in a good time and launching out the apex. I wouldn't be able to tell you how good it works because I was so worried about dropping my tranny on the track and decided to save myself the embarrassment. It was also a heat index of 103 F and that would increase those chances. I am going to another one in Sept. and will use the gate shift.

I also removed the back seats and deflated the rear tires to 34-36psi which helped on handling. But yes there was a fair amount of understeer yet minimal body roll. Overall I was able to do very well and each run I was able to drop my time, since a lot has to do with driving ability and not all about mods (though they help, of course)

Nice... I used to autocross my RX-7, I've missed it. I want to autox with the CL-S. They need to do more events at the fairgrounds in Cola.
