Philips Ultinon 6000k HIDs Installed!! *56k beware*
Well...I nearly 3/4 of a way done with the install where I totally forgot to take pictures and make a How-To for everybody. So I am really sorry. I feel bad Well anyway, let me get to the pictures. I only took a few as I was realllllllllly busy today, and they aren't the greatest pics, but you get the idea. Overall, I'm really pleased with the bulbs. They are definitely a lil' more blue than the stock bulbs....and omit nearly the same amount as light as the stock ones. I've heard so many people say not to go w/ the 6000ks since they you will lose a 'substantial' amount of actual light produced. I do believe you lose about 10%, but even w/ that 10% lost, I can't even tell. However, I wouldn't recommend going above 6000k, and stick with Philips or Osram...or any other reputable company. Anyhow, the install was pretty straight forward. The only problem I ran into was getting the bumper back on due to the metal supports underneath the headlights. I had to adjust them a few times to ensure the bumper fit perfectly. So...I hope you guys enjoy the pics. I will take better ones tomorrow. I will also take pictues tomorrow during the day of the new '03 taillights I installed yesterday as well.

Nah I just replaced the bulbs. Reasons why I replaced the bumper:
1) There has been a clanking noise in the front area that has been occuring since I installed the new Headlights, so I needed to take off the bumper to take a look.
2) I felt more comfortable having the headlight in an easier position to take out the bulb, because of the metal spring.
3) I'm an idiot like that
When it rains, I'll let you all know whassup.

I know my boy Greyjhu has 6000k and they look sweet. I didn't see them warm up, though. So that deep blue might just be very temporary. His 6000k was more crystal blue when fully heated up.

well...a few people have asked about some comparison pictures. So I had my g/f park next to me w/ her Mini which has HIDs. Here's to give you some kind of an idea.
And a couple more shots
This is when the HIDs are just warming up...

When i had a 02 Nissan Sentra Spec-V i bought an HID conversion kit....the ballasts were OSRAM (Sylvania) and I made the mistake of buying 8000k IMO. 8000k is a little too blue, and take away from the actual brightness. I wouldnt go anything over 6000k imo. I think i read that 4700k is optimal for actual brightness but 6000k looks so damn good!

Theoretically, yes. because HIDs emit over 3 times more light than halogen. In the rain, Halogen lights are useless. They might as well be fog lights. So, if you were to get 6000k, you would still get better lighting on the road in the rain versus using the Halogen.

The 2 choices that I have found so far are: HID Express and Xenon Depot

Well I just noticed that earlier in this thread I was supposed to update everybody on how the lights do in the rain. Well, we just got done w/ some a heavy storm down here a few weeks ago, and here are my impressions...
At night, on the street with somewhat congested traffic in the rain, the light being projected on the floor isn't as apparent as say a dood w/ halogen bulbs next to me. Reason being is because they're so damn white. However, I can still see perfectly.
Now, if say I'm driving down a neighborhood street at night by myself where its quite dark and it's raining, I can see pretty much just as good as I did with my stockers.
So overall, I really don't see any cons in buying these bulbs. They were definitely a great investment, and they look fucking great

"Essarak Huot", you say you have the 6000k and it sucks compared to the stock 4100k. What makes it suck? "Dem1k" is saying that he can't tell the difference.
Help me out here. I wanna upgrade because i'm tired of pulling up to a BMW or anything else that seems to have a brighter HID than me!

HIDs are not illegal if they came standard w/ your vehicle. For example, if you put an HID on a civic, that is considered illegal because civics don't come standard with HIDs. However, if your car such as the 2nd Gen CL comes standard w/ HIDs, and you install higher temp HID bulbs such as 6000K, its not illegal.
