New shots of the 03 SMR

Hey everyone, a few things since my last picture shoot:

--- Removed my windshield wipers ---
--- Comptech lowering springs ---
--- Cleared headlights ---
--- Clay bar & serious wax job ---

Hope you guys like my work in progress! I need to get rid of the stock rims next!

About that, and I forgot to explain before everyone :flame: s...
I rain x-ed the crap out of my windshield, and I also have the driver side wiper arm in my trunk in case it starts to pour. Have not been getting too much rain out here in the ATL either.

lol alright...i still dont really get it but hey, its your car not mine. Just wondering what made u take them off to begin with? just didn't like how they looked or?

Just for cosmetic reasons, it looks a bit more streamlined IMO. The real reason I took them off is because the passenger side nut that holds the arm loosened itself and fell off. Before I caught it, the arm splines had stripped and the passenger side arm would no longer move up and down. I guess I kinda had to remove it at least until I buy a new arm. :whyme:

Thanks man! I'm from Cobb county (kennesaw area). Philly is a nice city, I will be up there for a trade show next month.

Nice work on the paint, how long did it take to clay bar it?

About 45 min, but I took my time and was very thorough... It's actually alot easier than I thought. You just have to wash it, then, working on one body panel at a time you put on this lubricant/spray detailer stuff. Then you just slide the bar back and forth over the paint. You can literally hear and feel it picking up all the contaminants/dirt. It strips all the wax off too, so after you wash all the lubricant off its best to put a coat on. Its amazing the job it does though. Your paint will be smooth and looks 1000X better!

p.diddy 06-09-2008 03:25 PM

all you need is some rims then it will be perfect.

cltypeSLOW 06-09-2008 04:39 PM

looks good, but now that i have seen an SMR with cleared headlights I'm glad we didnt do it to distorted's. the red needs that amber in there to make everything balance IMO.

Loving the drop, clean setup and beautiful photoshoot. I just got my comptech drop as well, hehe. I have about a 2 finger gap in the front, 2 1/2 finger gap in the back, but I have only had my suspension on for 5 days , roughly 200 miles, so I'm sure the back will settle in more. I looked in your mod list, did you keep the stock shocks? I installed the springs using the stock stocks and plan to upgrade later, how about you?

Thanks man, yeah I still have the stock shocks on there... The springs were sitting at a buddy of mine's shop so he put em on for me for free and I didn't have time to buy the shocks! the back does sit a bit higher than i expected but man its still better than stock!

sayfulhaqq 06-11-2008 09:05 PM

Yea the car looks sick with it, I picked up the comptech springs for 40 bucks with only 10k on them and installed them with the comptech sway bars and the headers in one day, let me tell you the car hugs the corners , I can't wait till I get better tires and better shocks. Here is my photoshoot, feel free to comment, it was my first photoshoot, and all I had was my phone.

Some night shots of the lights I said I would put up:

Still have the crap 9005's in the high beams, but I want to switch those to 6000k HIDs to match the headlights, and I gotta figure out something w/the turn/signal lamps. I bought white LEDs but they won't work w/the turn signals. :whyme:

Holy shit! You finally lowered the damn thing! I'm glad. Now we can do a photo shoot. Well, after I wax my car. Mine's looking kinda bad right now. :( But soon! PM me when you wanna do a shoot, or meet up or something. May be you, Nic, and I can do something.

Oh yeah, come see me about parts. I work at Jackson Acura. I'll get you my cost on parts you need, like your wipers and what not. :D

ljmushock 07-18-2008 07:54 PM

yep get on ebay and type in "acura cl lip spoiler" the guy who sells them has them for every color but you may need to send him a pm if he doesn't have your color in a current listing (i had to)... Its about 35 bucks shipped which is a deal... I LOVE the way the lip spoiler looks but I actually just took it off b/c i miss the sleak look of the bare naked trunk... Now it sucks though b/c to put it back on I have to go buy some new MMM tape.

Yeah, because of the parking mirror hangy tag thingy. My girlfriend's mother works for Coke as well. That's how I knew you worked there.
