How does it match up acceleration wise with your well modded cls-6?
I sure it can hand the cl its ass in the curves.

Thanks... I was lucky to find it. I was told by the dealer after I bought the car that it was the only '05 NSX-T Silverstone/Onyx available on the West Coast.

As for the neighborhood... I wish I lived there but the prices for these homesteads are probably in the 1M-4M range. I happen to be on the lower rent street. You should see the higher rent streets.

I was on my way home from an all-nighter mods install party at Dark DJ's place. I happened to be driving by this street at sun rise and thought this would be a nice place to shoot a few pics of my baby.

I haven't really pushed the car yet cause I've only got around 1200 miles on her. But it doesn't come into its own until 5800 RPM (VTEC) and above. I've only got on it a few times and hit 6500, 7000 and 7800 RPM -- REDLINE is 8000 RPM. The gearing in an NSX is a lot taller than my CL. For instance:

1st Gear Ratio 3.066:1 - 47 MPH
2nd Gear Ratio 1.956:1 - 74 MPH
3rd Gear Ratio 1.428:1 - 102 MPH
4th Gear Ratio 1.125:1 - 130 MPH
5th Gear Ratio 0.914:1 - 160 MPH
6th Gear Ratio 0.717:1 - 202 MPH

Reverse Gear Ratio 3.186:1 - 45 MPH

As you can see, the top of 2nd gear in an NSX-T is near the top of 3rd on the CLS 6MT. My CLS does feel quicker off the line, but based on my last few runs up the RPM ladder, I think my NSX is deceptively quick. Up to 80, 90 or 100 MPH, my CLS would probably be leading, but after 100 MPH, my NSX would start to walk away. I need to find someone to drive my CL so I can do a side-by-side test.

Now don't get me wrong, our modded CL's handle nicely for luxury sport coupes and I love mine, but it feels like I'm steering the Titantic compared to driving the NSX. On the meet this weekend, driving the twisties I found that I didn't have to brake most of the time when everyone else was in their CLS's, 3rd gen TL's and 350Zs.

You may laugh, but part of the reason I got the NSX was to lessen the burden on my CL. I've put 42k on my CL in just over 2 years. So weather permitting, I'll be driving the NSX into work a few times a week. But in rush hour, I also feel like I want a police escort to keep the crazies away. :

Thanks... I feel very lucky to have gotten into this car. If it weren't for the special lease deal Acura has been offering, I would be driving a new MDX, TSX or RL instead.

Let's just say, I've already got a quote for all the CompTech NSX goodies from my friendly Acura dealer. Not sure when and what will go in first but it may be something like this:
  1. Intake, Headers, Exhaust
  2. Then SC
  3. Then rear strut support, sways, brakepads, SS lines and brake fluid.

Out of the box, the NSX handles like a track car. It's already very low to the ground and handles unbelievably good. So I don't think I want to do a spring upgrade.

As far as wheels, the OEMs are lightweight BBS forged (17x7 front/17x9 rear), so I'll probably keep em as is.

The OEM tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE040, 215/40-17 front and 255/40-17 rear which are very sticky. I may consider going with 225/265 (f/r) later on.

Let's just say I got the car for about what a new fully loaded TL A-Spec would cost per month. I also got the car for about 10K off of sticker with about 2500$ worth of stuff thrown in on top of that. The best part, the residual is about 10K less than what a 3 year old NSX would go for. It was a win-win deal.

Thanks... I sometimes find myself sitting at work wondering "do I really have an NSX waiting at home for me to drive?" I sometimes can't believe it. I love my CL and will be keeping it. But this new car has me more excited than I was about the CL. Getting the SC installed in my CL would almost compare...

I will be looking for progess on your project and what you'll be up to on NSXPrime.

More like the CLs rich foreign cousin.
If I was super rich I'd lease one.
If I was wealthy I'd buy one.

congrats, NSX is always my favorite Honda sports car.

I wish my CL was that color, saw one at the dealer showroom a year ago. Seems like they wanted about 80 crackers for it. I'd never want to park it.

I can just see her butt dents left behind on my hood, something for me to remember her by. Funny thing you mentioned her name, we were just talking about her at the SacTown meet last Saturday. SWEET THING!!! But how often is she mention in conversations all of the West Coast.

BTW, how's it going up there? You gonna do the TC?

Nice NSX One of the only true exotics in my area as I see them less than the Itialian exotics. I always do a double take when I see one on the road.
