I love CF, I just didnt like it on my car. I wanted a more understated look, and the money is better spent elsewhere.

What do you mean when you say your trunk fits like shit? The trunk I got doesnt fit at all. The driverside corner near the window sits too low, passenger side too high, and where it meets the bumper it curves too far into the car. And its not by millimeters, its by a half-inch or more. Ohh and I like how this thread goes off-topic every so often.

I do have a question. What was it about the CF parts you didn't like? I have had some iffy feelings about my CF parts too ever since I put them on. I have debated on painting or selling them. Was it the fact that the CF from VIS has a strong copper hue to it when paired with the NBP? Or that it makes the NBP look more blue?
Overall I like my hood but my trunk just looks out of place.
If fits like shit and I just generally hate it. Wonder if you felt the same. Not to mention the weight saving was allot less then I expected. I dropped more wight with my battery... You're saving more with your wheels, lol.
i was looking into buying a vis trunk, but what problems did u run into?

Well, its the end of an era. Yup, thats right. Its gone.

Im talking about the 18s

Im rolling on the 19" Devotions again for alittle while. I did a test fit of my "mystery wheel" and its a tight fit. I dont know if Im going to go through with them.

No pictures, didnt have the camera on me at the time. The rim pokes out a good 1/4" past the fender. I dont like stretched tires, so Im thinking its a no-go. Oh well, Ill keep looking

depending on how thick the mounting flange area is, you might be able to get that area machined down a little bit, so the offset is greater
but i be REAL careful with trying to machine too much off

Thinking about it.

Thought about that too. Im going to talk to some of the rim experts and see what I should do and if its worth it. I love these wheels, and for the price I cant go wrong, but if I need to dump money into the body to make them fit I dont think Ill do it. At that point it would just be cheaper getting the other set of wheels Ive had my eye on, and that I know will fit.

In other news, I finally hit 1k miles. I put around 250-300 miles on the car today, and it took it like a champ. I still have another 1500 miles before I can go WFO with it, but I can start easing into it little by little. Now I can rev up to 5k rpm, and give it alittle more then half throttle. I did that on an on ramp earlier and I gotta say it brings a smile to my face just thinking about it

It sounded great, and the torque Ive never driven a Honda with so much torque Passing people in 6th gear is just so easy now. It just pulls. I caught myself doing 90 a few times just while passing.

I seem to be getting used to the clutch which is good. It doesnt even feel heavy to me anymore. Hopping in my brothers Accord is wierd though, because I cant pick up where the engagement point is anymore, its just so damn soft.

These past few days Ive really been thinking about just doing an all-motor build. I think the turbo may be too much power for FWD. If I go all motor Ive already got the first few mods planned out. And no, Im not telling

If the rain isnt heavy tomorrow I will try to take a few pictures of how the car sits now.

Wow thats crazy, because you just described word for word whats wrong with my trunks fitment. The drivers side is too low, passenger side is too high. (on mine its like an inch gap too high) The bottom is a good 1/2 inch from the bumper...
I also have these really weird baseball sized "dents, or dimples" whatever you wanna call it, all across the trunk lid. You can only really see them from the side on an angle. But when the morning dew, or frost is on the trunk it makes a perfect outline of every dimple. It's crazy I'll take a flic so you can see what I mean.

It's pretty safe to assume if Civic's trunk and my trunk have the exact same fitment issue's then there's a problem with VIS's mold or template during manufacturing.

End/ off topic:
Civic your car looks sick with the devotions. Who cares about those stock wheels that don't fit. Rock those RJ's .

Hmmmm, maybe we should both complain to ViS. Have you already complained? Maybe we can get them to either refund us or make a correct trunk. The way it is now I refuse to put it on my car. If I can get one that fits Ill keep the hood.

Thanks for the compliments I love the Devotions, but I want something lighter and I want to run a 255 tire.

I removed the stops entirely. No difference. And spacing the hinges wont allow the edge of the trunk to sit properly near the bumper.

Its more money then I want to spend on it. Usually ViS is pretty good with fitment. I dont know wtf happened. Im going to be calling them tomorrow about this. Its nice to know Im not the only person with these fitment issues either, so their mold must be screwed up.

but its not an oem part. its a replica, so some work here or their is gonna be needed. demel took car of it and it was only like 3/16" that needed to be shaved. but then again. the car was in a accident so the bumper might have been not aligned right. dont matter. all is good now.
