What do you guys think of this exhaust? I love it, how do I get my car to sound like this? Or will it never?

Street knows just as much if not more then me.

The J wont sound like the VQ engine - and Im glad. Get an exhaust and a good intake. Itll sound like its own beast.

Ill be in NY next Mon-Wednesday (I didnt go this past week). If youre around when Im free, maybe you, Street, and myself can meet up

I was just joking Morgan!!!

And yeah I knew it would never sound like that but it was worth an ask. I loved the sound of my maxima, so sexy. I want a deep rumble that I can hear over the engine but the more I look the more I am finding out that that won't be really possible.

I am 100% down. I would love that, it will be nice to get outta here too. Guess the cops showed up at the meet last night but it was cancelled so no harm done. I am around Tuesday and wednesday.

I fucking hate that VA requires a front plate. And the cops are dicks for it too.

Same with MO. I got pulled over twice in one week for it, in two different parts of the state.

Not sure what to search to get the specs on this exhaust? Is it 2.5 all the way from headers back? I love the sound.

It had XS Power headers, a universal Magnaflow high-flow cat and 2.5in piping. No idea what mufflers were used. It sounds very similar to my old CT setup though. Nearly identical setup anyway, just with different mufflers and a resonator.

It was dead silent at cruising speeds. But it had a nice, mature tone to it when opened up.

Thinking about doing the check valve removal mod but the last time I tried to work on this car (8 years of upstate winters) it was a disaster rust wise. I want to do all my research properly this time so here is the deal.

Should I buy a whole new master cylinder and remove the valve from that one or use my stock one?

From there I would need the ss lines to really get good feel out of this correct? like 30 bucks?

Finally to finish off the shifting mods I want the hybrid racing bushings correct? I looked at my current bushings and they have a ton of rust, and the pins are rusted. What kinda trouble are these going to give me?

In order of questions:

-If youre planning on removing the check valve in the cylinder, it might be best. The slave cylinders are cheap anyway. Dont forget to remove that stupid damping device too.

-SS is recommended but you can use the stock rubber line. Again, cheap mod, might as well do it all at once.

-Yep, the Hybrid Racing bushings are the best on the market at the moment. Ive run the Corsport solid bushings too but the HR bushings dont bind as much as the Corsports. And your bushings arent rusted; rubber doesnt rust There are washers on it though that are probably corroded.

^hmm okay sounds good drivr, as to the bushings, that confused me at first as well, they look like shit though so that's why I should have said surface, I dont know whats good with them so we will have to see what happens when I get them out and see why they look so bad, pins look corroded as hell. Where would I get new pins, or do the HR's come with them?

You can get a pack of cotter pins at Home Depot, Lowes, or even hobby shops.

I am in the process of doing very similar mods to my new CL. I got a 03 CLS 6spd just changed the HIDs to 15000k last night and put on straight pipes instead of mufflers. Believe it or not it really isnt that loud and sounds like a fricken beast. A lil bit raspy on decel but regardless i love it. 150 bucks you cant beat it. Im currently saving up for some TEIN Basis coils but i been dumpin money into this thing and my streetbike too much lately. Ill b posting a build thread on my car soon with lots of pics and videos. :-)

Hey guys, just checking in to say hello to everyone and sorry I have been gone these past weeks! My tour is going well, the internet is just a little spotty and I don't have much time to fight the other crew members for a spot anyways. When I do have time I use it to work on my parts list to get the CL up and running.

so far the problem areas are:
1.) broken endlinks on the front sway bar
2.) clunk from rear endlinks
3.) one Micro DE foglight just magically stopped working, havent had a chance to troubleshoot it yet, but I cant seem to find much information on them online, maybe I am not looking in the right place.

Parts list so far:
1.) progress rear sway

2.) new endlinks on all corners, anyone have suggestions? I know moog but what about the powerlink ones heeltoe sells?

3.) new bulbs for the fogs, not sure if I can change color temperature with the 3k ballasts I already have, I want to go to 2.5k if I have to change bulbs.

4.) ss cable for shifter and new bushings.

5.) tints

6.) Exhaust!!!! I am still struggling with this one, from all reports the Maganflow mufflers are pretty quiet. I am really tempted at this point to go with more of a canister muffler, like the ones vibrant sells, or HKS, or skunk. I don't know what you guys think, havent been able to get a good answer yet. I want a deep rumble that can be heard over the engine at low speeds and whatnot. I will probably plan on removing the mid muffler.

SO thats an update to my life right now. Let me know how yall are and if you have any answers for me please share!!
