Just got my C5 Evo !!!
Hi,
I got my C5's today, here are couple of pictures for before and after. Don't have the center caps on yet because I'm waiting for the right size of wheel locks tomorrow. Also, I'm getting a Tein drop tomorrow. So please don't hate me for the stock height..
I respect all of your guys opinion, and I hope you guys like what you see. I'll post more pics tomorrow when I get the drop and put the caps on the rims.
Thanks!!

Dude that's tight! I've always wanted C5s or M5s...most likely leaning towards the M5, evos of course, due to the sporty look of them. But that's tight! I agree with Charles...get some coilovers like Teins....your car will be really, really sweet then!

Nice! I got my Z5000 in Saturday and then dropped mine on the Tein's Monday.
Hey.. I am heading back to my friend's house tonight where my air tools are... if you want to do the Tein drop there I did mine in about 2.5 hours. Your we could do in maybe 2!
I still have the spring compressor..

Kalin,
Hey thanks for the offer , but since Alta is only two minutes from where I work, I decided to do it there (picking it up when I get off work). But my only problems is that because I got the 19's I think I'm going to have problems rubbing my tires on the rear, because it pretty wide, plus, did you notice that the rear fender is pretty thick? I might have to just get them to install the kit but leave it at stock height so I can take it to a body shop to roll the fenders. Also, did you do an alignment yet? How does it feel with your configuration?
BTW, you have a Silver CLS right? I think I saw you the other day.

So did you get them through the group buy or Alta? What is Alta charging for the install?
I have 225/40/18 tires on +42 rims. So far I have not had any rubbing. Even taken a few tight turns with the Teins.. no problem. Have them drop it to a decent height. Try it out for a while and then you can lower it more. BUT since you have 235 you might have issues.
I have not gotten it aligned yet.. Almost does not feel like it needs it, but I'll get it done anyway just to see what the rear camber is. The feel is awesome. It's the way Acura should have released the CL. Suspension is tighter, a lot less brake dive, perhaps a little stiff for some people since I have my front at 6/16 soft and the rears at 9/16. I used to have 500 lb ERS springs on a car though, so this feels like a Lincoln.
Body shop roll the fenders? That's what baseball bats are for, my friend.

cls2001-97124, i have Sportline drop (thats like 2.00 front and 2.25 in back) and i got the same C5's, 19's and i have absoluty no rubbing at all. so don;t worry about it. I also have a huge box, by-band pass w/ 2 12's, so that makes the back lower.
p.s. I did get my rear fenders rolled in, but i doubt it will rub. Rolling in of my fenders cost 90 bucks, so it shouldn't cost too much for you.

$250 shipped overnight? Last I saw was $249 shipped airborne express from jus4bulbs.. where's the overnight deal? That sounds like a winner!

They tell you how many spins from bottom they set the Teins? Or did they measure in/mm from bottom? Looks very slick, and even. Either my front needs to go down some or my back up. Thinking the latter to decrease the neg camber a little more.

No, they did not keep track how many spins, because they pretty much use the measuring method, they drop it around and adjusted again until it felt just right.
However, I think that on the damper they set both the front and rear on 8 clicks. I might have to change it soon.. it just doesn't feel right.
I'm also going to get my alignment done tomorrow, so I can actually feel good about going a little faster on the freeway. (I notice that right now, if I go over 80mph, I can feel a little vibration on the steering wheel).

It looks nice with the wheels, the drop and the kit. From the pics, it looks like the color of the kit doesnt match the color of the car.

Good eyes!!
That drop is HOT, but the kit looks like a lighter shade of blue.
Good eyes to every one who saw the different shade.. I did it on purpose to see if I can make the kit some what stand out, but only under certain light and angle.. but I guess nothing will get by you guys.
I'm thinking about getting it color match now, because it never turn out as nice as I wanted.. plus I was just recently involved in a hit n' run, and some one left a nasty dent on my right rear lower panel.. so now I have an excuse to take my car into the shop anyway. So I'm pretty sure that I get the kit painted again.
Kalin, I got the alignment results, but it's in my car right now.. too lazy to get it now, about ready to hit the bed, I'll post it tomorrow when I get to work.

I spun my rears up one more revolution to make the front just ever so slightly lower.. and to get rid of some camber in the back. I'm getting mine aligned this week.. what's AS charge for yours?

Alignment results!!
Kalin,
Per your request, here are the results from Les Schwab:
Front:
Camber - Before (-1.2 deg) Specified Range (-1.5 to 0.6)
Result - No Change, same on the right side.
Caster - Before (2.6), Spec Range (1.8 to 3.8)
Result - no change. 2.7 on the right side.
Toe - Before (-0.30 deg), spec range (-0.08 to 0.08)
Result - (0.03 deg) same on right side.
Rear:
Camber: (-1.4 deg) No change for both side.
Toe - 0.11 on the left, 0.02 on the right.. They told me that it is okay, so no change there..
So pretty much just the Toe change for the front, and it cost me $70, not sure if it is worth that much, but I know I needed it done no matter what.. But I'm loving the negative camber though. It helps on cornering, and it's even in the specified range with my drop!!

Good stuff. Think I'll swing by Sears in the next few days for an alignment but I expect there will be minimal input by the alignment guy given your data.
