the highest torque gain is 9 lb.ft of torque, and that's at the crank. At the wheels, it's even less. VERY hard to notice.

Get the timing belt looks at soon.

It doesnt matter if you have 2 miles on the odometer, rubber hardens up over time and the tensioners can fail.

Redlining doesnt hurt anything bro. enjoy that car. rev limiter makes sure you dont hurt the engine., Popping the clutch/high rpm dumping of clutch/power shifting does. As far as negative camber when you lowered the car negative camber was added when you lowered the car. You cant adjust camber in hondas which is why when guys "slam" their cars the need camber kits so that it can be adjusted. You dont need to be adjusting camber. Your tires will chop up so bad be you'll buying tires all the time.

Well I'm rubbing in the rear and don't want to permanently modify my fenders, so I think I'll just get a rear chamber kit and run chamber just slight enough so that It won't rub.

thats where you went wrong. I had 225/40 18. my offset was similar on volks (+45). The sidewalls are too tall. I was wondering why your tires looked so thick when i 1st saw the car. That's also why your car looks lower than mine or appears because of the tires. Change the tires, no more rubbing I can almost assure you.

no... no for every 10mm wide you go. You drop 5 sidewall so it'll actuall stay clost nto what you have now. Keep in mind 215/50 17 = 215/45 18 or 225/40 18. You follow? Go to tire rack and they'll show you the sizes you can go to when you change rim size. Which is how i chose that size back in 03 they were Kumkho Ecsta 712's.

Not exactly.

215/50-17 (stock) = 25.5" tall
215/45-18 (Jakes) = 25.6" tall
225/40-18 (yours) = 25.1" tall
235/40-18 = 25.4" tall

Your tire size is nearly 1/2" shorter then stock, therefore they spin 1.5% faster. Compare that to 215/45s which are .6% too slow and 235/40s which are .2% too fast. There are slight variations with each tire, but a 225/45 is not going to be +/- .4" of the indicated size.

Yea, its only off 1mph at 60, but I think it would matter to Jake as it would cause his miles to rack up quicker

Do you now how much driving it would take to show a difference? A LOT a year to show anything worth worrying about. On the plus he'll have more contact patch for better acceleration and handling.

Actually, I have the proper tire size. The diameter of my tires are the same as the diameter of the oem ones.

Your 225's are actually too small. If you had 235/40/18's, then you would have the correct diameter.

Yep, thats the slight deviation I mentioned above.

Para - If you put 12,000 miles on a car in a year, its going to read 192 miles higher. Its less then a tank of gas, but it could still bother some people.

but i didnt rub. like he said your are .5in taller than mine. Stovck height your tires would work fine...lol. Why didnt you go wider in the 1st place for added traction. I say next time go my size for even better acceleration and no rubbing...lol. Nice pic of ice box.

Thanks. I might think about getting 235's if I can run enough camber in the rear to clear it.

Damn I stand corrected again. yes do 235's... you'll need that extra traction after the headers. I remember wht it was 225/40 had a LOT more options to choose from vs. 225/45. Kumho were 89 bux a piece vs. 121 for cheapest 225/45. I did the same thing with my 8th gen accord coupe 18's vs recommended 45 series of same width.

I've already decided on what I would do if I was to chose to ditch these tires for 35's. I would go with Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. More than likely though, I'm just gonna keep my tires on that I have now though.

Exactly... Looks like some read sigs . I really didn't need a type S with hand controls. Not like i had an extra set of hands to use paddles while a third hand could push the gas. Hell i can even use the sequential shift on mine...lol.
