SS Switch
So what you mean is that when you put it into SS mode, it sometimes kicks off automatically, right?
Well, the way the switch to engage SS mode works, is that the center switch in the pic (which while installed is almost flat instead of sticking out like in the pic) gets pushed in while the shifter is in the SS position. That turns the gauge with gear number on, and tells the PCM to change the transmission to the gear you want.
I suspect that either your switch is worn, or the metal bracket that holds the switches in place may have came loose allowing for the entire mechanism to shift to the left and causing a weak contact between the shifter an the switch. I'll explain more later if you need, I have to go... I'm late...

See the Cusco LSB under the car. To think I want to slam my car even more to make others smile.
That bar is 2" off the ground!

These greedy, selfish, & short sighted car manufacturers are really god damn stupid & ignorant. I am just voicing my frustration. How much more does it cost to put a jack & aux button in their factory radio? I hope the asshole marketing VP from Honda, Toyota & Nissan reads my comments. May they burn alive in hell w/ the devil
Now, I have to plan to yank out the whole console just to reach the wiring for the radio in order to doctor it up so I can use my Ipod.

There is an aux jack in the back of the radio and you hit CD twice for the button...
These cars are from 2001-2003. They were out before the HUGE I-Pod craze that there is today.
Most (I say most because I'm not sure if all) new Honda's come with a jack or I-Poc Link.
My girls Civic even has one.

I think my SS thingy is going out because sometimes the shift light will just go off and the tranny will shift by itself, but if I tap the knob the light will come back.
