Looks good!! I was gonna put silver vinyl on center and door trim on my 01 CLS. I thought about paint too, but after painting the shift plate and the engine covers, I realized the paint smells doesn't go off very well. (especially inside of the car) Also, I heared painted trims chips out very well since you touch them often. Anyway, do you have any tips on putting the vinyls on? I'm worried about putting them on the center trim since it's not straight. Advice would be appriciated.

If you're going to paint them, have a professional do it. My TL takes a beating and my silver painted trim still looks pretty damn good.

Actually NSXNext... i have been painting the plastics on a couple of my cars now... and if done right you shouldnt have to worry about scratching or chipping... i use the method below..
sand with 320 grit paper
clean with alcohol
2 coats of plastic primer ( available at Home depot)
3 base coats
3 heavy coats of clear enamel...
let it dry for about 48 hours and then rub it down with alcohol again to remove the paint smell.....
i am going to try your method of reattaching the plastics this weekend after i remove them.... thanks for the thread link... my main concern was getting them off and it looks like you guys used the same method i was thinking of...
