8" sub between seats. 01 cl-s
i thought at one time i saw someone with the sub mounted between the rear seats of a 3.2 cl. can anyone show me this set up. i'm looking to do the same and would like to know how they like it, and how to get the plastic piece of trim that is the fold down door off. thanks

i'm almost done building the box, all i need is to get the fabric that looks like the trunk carpet and the black imitation leather for the front of the box to match the interior. i'm using a JL 8w3v2-04 and a mtx thunder 2301 amp. i'll post pictures when i'm finished.

as far as the plastic door between the seats go, i just took the rear seat off and there are two screws at the bottom. take the screws out the the door comes right out.

at first when you said sub between the seats i was imagining a subwoofer mounted between the cushions in the rear seat, not in the trunk. i was thinking literally RIGHT in the middle where that board is when all is folded up/down on the bottom.
Nonetheless, nice.

I wanna know how it sounds too. Can you post some pics from behind it? Is there some sort of box back there or did you just simply mount the sub where the door was. More pics! More pics!!

i'm still figuring a way to hide the wires better, but this gives you guys a better idea of what it looks like. my golf club still fit every easily as you can see by the small box size. i'll just say it was worth the money, sounds good. if your looking for huge bass use the jl 8w7, but for the money the 8w3 does exactly what i want it to. thanks aaron

Well i got my quotes on doing that and it was a little under $1000 for everything. The box Amp, sub, converter, wires...etc. That is a little to much for me. But how does it sound in the open car?

i did all the work myself, so it only cost me the parts. about $375 for amp and sub, $35 to build box, $30 for power wire and fuse. i like it a lot, as far as the sound, it's an 8 inch and i'm used to a 12. so its deep bass doesn't rattle your teeth but it helped my system a lot. it just depends on what type of music you listen to. this amp has a feature that can accept high input from your rear speakers and your don't have to run a remote turn on eighter. its also came with a remote bass control that i installed where the fog light switch would go. thanks for the possitive feedback, if you guys have any other questions i'll be happy to answer them as best i can. later

where did you get the amp and sub so cheap? Do you have a hook up? and how did you get the box so flush with the seat? And if i were to do it i have an 8W7. That bitch is loud.

no hook up, the 8w3 was only 150 and the amp 200 plus tax. yeah the 8w7 would be a lot louder, and since you have it already this is a perfect project.

I've got an 8w7 run by a diamond 600.2 2 channel amp bridged,we had it in our old suv and for an 8 it kicks some ass! It's not gonna hit like a 12 or 10 but compared to what we have, with it firing into the cabin it will sound pretty damn good.

dont think so, i was thinking of putting the bigger sub not in the arm rest but just behind is so if it was pulled down the sub would still be visible just not fitting inside, dunno, saw a TL with a 12" behind it and it looked awesome

the 10 will probably work, i think the opening is about 9 1/2 inches. a 12 would be firing into the seat a little, how i mounted mine. with a spacer a 12 would work, you just wouldn't see all of it.
