Shift Point Calculator -- (Soopa, possible link save?)

Here is a link to the NHRAs Optimum shift point calculator. It will calc the best shift points based on torque and gear ratios.

Our torque/hp curve, stock or with headers is available from the Comptech site. It might be better to look up one of the other members Dynos curves (in lb-ft) for the torque (to save conversion time).

Our gear ratios are available from a number of sources.

Here is the link to the calculator:

Calculating Optimum Shift Points

Here is a note from the result page:

"The table below shows your results based on the information you provided on the previous page. Your best shift point will be the RPM where there is the least change in torque between shifts."

This along with our mods should help get us below 14 seconds with mods!

I did the calcs (this is a dup of some info I posted into another thread...

I ran the calcs using the gear rations from the acura.com site and used the torque figures from the AEM CAI graph (stock) and I got the following results from the NHRA shift page I posted above:

Calculated Optimum Shift Points

The table below shows your results based on the information you provided on the previous page. Your best shift point will be the RPM where there is the least change in torque between shifts.

Your best shift points are:

Best shift point for the 1-2 shift is 7000 with a LOSS of 82 Lb/Ft of torque.

Best shift point for the 2-3 shift is 7000 with a LOSS of 36 Lb/Ft of torque.

Best shift point for the 3-4 shift is 7000 with a LOSS of 27 Lb/Ft of torque.

Best shift point for the 4-5 shift is 7000 with a LOSS of 27 Lb/Ft of torque.

And here is the link to the thread with the torque curve of AEM CAI vs. stock that I used for torque data:

http://www.acura-cl.com/ubb/Archives...-1-001746.html

I filled in the data all the way to 7000 rpm.

EricL,

It appears to me that by shifting at redline, we stay in VTEC territory with each upshift. Sounds about right as I used this calc for my previous Lude Si prior to 1/4 mile track event.
