your torque is really low. whats with that?

2Fast4you 04-02-2009 10:30 AM

is this a 6 speed?

EL19 04-02-2009 10:57 AM

good #s, they are on par. I believe it is a 6spd

2Fast4you 04-02-2009 10:59 AM

did the flywheel give you good gains?

low?? dont cls put down around 215? 225lbs tq doesnt feel low.

flywheel just gave it faster revs. gains probably similar to pulleys. but the shift engagement is what i like.

EL19 04-02-2009 02:36 PM

where did u get the flywheel and how much did it run u?

fuzzy02CLS 04-02-2009 02:45 PM

That's about right. Mine dyno's just about the same.

google aasco cl flywheel. ran about 1k i think.

as for the really low torque? dude i dont know what your looking at. my torque line is solid. almost 220lbs @ 2.5k rpm

EL19 04-02-2009 03:49 PM

^^^ ur TQ is where its supposed to be. Thanks for the info on the flywheel. I think ima go clutchmasters

Accord_V6_400m 04-03-2009 07:46 PM

Aaah so this is what you were talking about Evan, hey hit me up if you find pics of my Accord on the TSX forums. I know when I did mine and got 252 on a dynojet the guy leaned it out a bit much and as a result the ECU was retarding timing a little. Ill get another dyno one of these days, this time with bigger brakes.

So far I got:
UR crank pulley
AEM CAI
Comptech headers
straight pipe>2.5" piping>(2) Cherry Bomb glass packs> HKS Superdragger axleback.
ported/poished IM top and bottom

Id say your A/F is a little low, I think 13.0-13.5 is best for NA.

Pinho 04-06-2009 10:48 PM

nice #'s i finaly ordered my AASCO flywheel 2 weeks ago....im sure u would make a lil more power if u were to lean it out a bit more....i know my motor doesent like alot of fuel i likes high 13's Air Fuel

So why Aasco and not Comptech or better yet Clutchmasters or Unorthodox Racing flywheel?
My car starts to ping a bit at high 13's especially in VTEC.

i went with the AASCO because i already have a good Spec stage 5 clutch which i got a good deal on....i was thinking about clutchmasters but its a lil to high for me its about $1500usd plus shipping and duty...as for Comptech or Unorthodox Racing i forgot to look them up

sinfulj32 04-08-2009 12:11 AM

i really like my aasco, but i wish i would have researched the ur flywheel before purchasing...you can get them for $619.00 on www.dikperformance.com

i do want a tune my a/f in the future but after couple more mods...and i still havent figured what i want to tune with yet either.

Damn I just found a Aasco flywheel for $432! Thats really good considering the OEM flywheel is a little over $400 at invoice price. Still only clutch I would want to use right now besides stock but I want to upgrade would be Clutchmasters.

Damn Evan, we should meet up, I want to see how that flywheel is. I plan on dropping by Aasco Motorsports today if they have time. They're less then 20miles from my house! In Anaheim, thats uber close.

sinfulj32 04-09-2009 12:25 AM

yah i think i got mine for around 650 new but the install was another 400...hmm i dont think i'll be in la area this week, but i'd be down to meet up sometime..

Its not "failed" he just likes leaving it open the whole time.

I actually did drop by Aasco, and im quite impressed. Got pics that i'll post up later, they actually had one of our flywheels right there on the table and more being built. Talked with Vincent I believe was his name for almost an hour or should I say listened.

I found out that Aasco makes pretty much every other companies flywheel for them including clutchmasters however not Fidanzas and no longer for UR but due to private labeling laws they will naturally deny this. Their Porsches will be racing at the Long Beach Toyota Grand Prix preview is today too if I remember correctly.

Flywheel specs:
13.0lbs (weighed it right there)
stock: 33-34lbs (good estimate from Vincent's memory)
(almost a third of the weight)

Specs:
425hp 3.8 NA motor
9000rpm redline
Powerband 6K-8200rpm
Engine: $45000
engine service life: 40hrs
Operation costs: $5000 a day

sinfulj32 04-10-2009 02:28 PM

^nice info.

yea one of the main reasons why i went aasco is because i knew they made awesome porsche flywheels

Greddy MX is a single unit axle back? Or is that custom?

sinfulj32 04-13-2009 04:25 AM

i bought the dual mx but came with an extra elbow for single exit option for 4cyl accords

StreetKA 04-14-2009 03:09 PM

i have injen intake comptech axleback how much whp would that be ? does UR pulley worth that price any hp gain ? on stock i ran 14.341/ 97.4 (6spd)

I bet you would be at like 230whp maybe. the stock 6 speeds are supposted to get 220whp

Accord_V6_400m 04-17-2009 02:18 AM

Finally modded my Comptech j-pipe to have a 2.5" collector! Think it got faster ;)
And I threw on a CLS cat so I can pass smog :D

sinfulj32 04-17-2009 02:21 PM

did you have a shop mod it? do you mind if i see how you did it? you'll probably feel the gains when you put your straight pipe on again

I felt the gains regardless, the cat doesnt hurt it much at all, especially since I modded the cats inlet/outlet sizes to match that of the 2.5" piping, so it doesnt restrict back to 2.0"

I'll get some pics up later the shop said they would do the work for $200 actually took a couple of hours to do, so it makes sense, parts and labor combined (piping and new flex pipe).

Right now the cat has one flange on it to allow for the removal of the j-pipe, and welded on the otherside, i'll add another flange to it to put in a test pipe after my smog check if anything just to try it out and see if Evan is right about the cat. Now I can confidently say the cat is probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust since everything else is 2.5" or splits into 2.25" at the axleback.

sinfulj32 04-19-2009 04:34 PM

nice. did that shop mod your stock cat to 2.5 to?

Yes indeed. :)

CG2PROJECT 04-20-2009 03:05 AM

How the hell did they mod the cat into a 2.5 I don't get it?

Cut the flanges off, you know how it narows down to the flange well, we just went up to where it would be 2.5", so we cut the bottle neck off and cut closer to the actual cat material, so we made it shorter.

Ill try it straight piped after smog and see if it changes performance.

AARONSredTYPE-S 05-22-2011 03:14 PM

damn, nice numbers on this, especially with the mileage.
hope when i get my dyno soon, that i have as good or better...lol

AARONSredTYPE-S 07-18-2011 08:47 PM
