03 CLS Question

Ok I am new here, have had my 03 CLS 6mt for about a year now. Has 80k on it. I have recently removed the exhaust resonator, and just pulled the intake resonator box. Obviously I at least need a K&N drop in, but where should I go from there? Not very familiar with the Honda/Acura tuning. Is that enough air for this motor? headers? Would changing the stock dual muffs yield any more hp? not sure I want to, it has a real nice sound like it is. When is it time to get a chip tuned for the mods that I have? Taking off both resonators must add at least 10hp? so prob around 220hp to the wheels or so assuming 17%loss and 255hp to start with. Is it If anyone else is laid off for winter and bored lol, and in the know about these motors/cars and would like to educate me please do!

For our cars, Intake/Headers/Exhaust are all we can really do without going supercharged. Comptech headers are the best but they are discontinued so DC Sports are good. I like my AEM Cold air intake but I've read that a lot of people have the Comptech/CT Engineering Ice box intake. For exhaust, I know that most use the Comptech Axle Backs but there are also Tanabe medallions and I think the ATLP exhaust works for the CL IIRC. As for chip tunes, there aren't any performance chips but I'm new to any electronic upgrades for our CL's. Also, the Unorthodox Racing/ XLR8 lightweight crank pulley is a nice upgrade for the car.

since your a m/t the dc headers wont fit. if i recall right only the comptechs fit because they need an extra bend in the rear header to clear the trans.

Intake/header/pullies/exhaust( won't gain much). That's a good start and will get you some decent gains. Then you could swap the intake manifold and port out some parts for some more.

Dual throttle body intake manifold is the best but 09 tl intake manifold showed the next highest gains
