Your wish list to make CL-S even hotter!!
CL Type S is one of the best cars that Acura made so far. However it is still not mean enough and I'm sure Acura can make the Type S even hotter. Here is my wish list for the Acura designers if they care to hear about it. I'd like to know what's on your mind. I don't mind paying couple thousands more to get these improvements, not at all. I think the Type-S should stands for "Super" not "Subtle". Cheers!
1. More aggressive body styling for Type S
2. Stiffer and lower suspension for Type S
3. Quicker steering ratio for Type S
4. Darker tinted window
5. Real projector type fog light (what's up with the useless "road light"?)
6. More aggressive interior; get rid of the cheap looking fake wood and add carbon fiber (doesn't have to be real) trim
7. Add serious backlighting to the instruments (like the GS400)
8. Get rid of the cheap looking gated plastic shift cover and use real polished aluminum
9. Add metal ball type shift knob (I've already changed mine)
10. Wider tires (at least 225), 18" wheels are always welcome
11. And more horsepower are always plus

I would love to see all of those improvements, but let's be realistic. 32k for a type-s is probably the biggest reason most of us bought ours. If I wanted to spend 40+k I would have bought an s4 or a 330. The type s is a great car for a great price.
My only wishes are: A real manual tranny and a lower stance and wider rubber from the factory.

I think most of the things you mentiones are superficial. This car financially drained me for the next year at least. No new computer, no nothing. I have to save and work. If they added those things, the car wouldn't have been in my price range and I would probably be in a '01 Mustang GT or possibly a Cobra.
I never considered the TL because I had a 4dr for five years and I'm at a time in my life where a family sedan just isn't right. I'm 22 I should be in a 2dr coupe chasing those chics! Lets face it... The Mustang is a good (fast) car.

i agrewe with sneakypete, if the cl-s was closew to 40 grand, i wouldnt have gotten it. i would have put the extra money down and gotten the new gs400 or at least a 98 gs400 and loved life with the phat ass car. i could have gotten it or a mercedes clk. the lc-s would bve phat with all those inprovements but lets thingk about it, the comptech systems would be great, id pay the extra for it, but i like the sport hsift and not manuel. better fogs are a must , i have 4 fogs now after switchin the road lamp lites and also put a extrra set on.

There are a lot of things I like better about the CLS than the GS400 I traded in. High among them is BARGAIN. Really, lowering and stiffer is not practical, do that yourself for a few hundred bucks. Really, what does the car need that Acura can provide without raising the price. 1) a real 6 speed. 2) Incrementally more horsepower (you want more, buy it). 3) 17" wider tires. 4) Tighten up the design. Tints and silver balls are boy racer crap, buy it yourself. I traded in a GS400 and a 540i for a CLS and a 330i. I'm having a lot more fun. My wife loved the GS, but the CLS has a nav which is a must for her in her travelling job. The CLS is a bargain and a pocket rocket that just pisses off E430s and others when you pull them. Or, best is the way it destroys an IS300 at anything on the road and those assholes always want to race you because they think their rocket is so hot.

Just don't run with a Mustang GT or a Cobra. You won't take 'em.

Yeah, but the Mustang GT or Cobra has to be running to beat you. My Cobra spent most of its time at the Ford service bay beating mechanics.
