You guys are sad!!!.....Houston CL-S owners

As a Mustang GT owner, it is disturbing to hear that you people actually think that your peice of crap V-6's can hang with out 4.6L V-8's!! We have gobs of torque and displacement compared to your small-ass V-6. Give me a break. Anytime you people want to try to run with my GT, bring it! I live in Houston and I will be on Westheimer this saturday night with a few friends, so if you want to get spanked, drop on by.

By the way, its a '99 GT, with K&N drop in. And don't think that if you got headers you are faster.....All I need to say to you is "V-8"!

I don't know why I'm responding to a troll.. But yes, I have beat a mustang GT '99 with the CL-S and I beat PLENTY with my GTX, even at the track.

I know plenty of V6 GTP's in Texas that would be willing to show you what a V6 can do.

I know your mainly trolling to stir up CL-S owners, but your post refers to V6's in general as well so I'm throwing my .02 in as well.

Mustang, you're welcome to stay and share your kills as long as you're polite and don't act like a troll. The GT is a fast car but it's not unbeatable. Some of the best engines ever made were v6s:

porsche
toyota supra
acura nsx

to name a few

generally speaking the GT should be faster but that's driver dependant.

I beat Stangs all the time, new, old, Cobra, whatever...oops I have a V8.

Man, but I will say this, the new GT's are quick off the line and IMO it should beat the CLS off the line everytime, but like Mike said, it's all about the driver baby!

Ha Ha listen to yourself the big bad V-8 vs. V-6. It such a shame that an engine with 1.4 liters more of volume only results in an engine with approximately the same Horsepower and a minor increase in torque. Don't even think you will walk away from our cars in your Mustang. I've run several 1999 GT's and its usually close, especially the automatics. Mostly because they think like you. If you are going to beat us, you better have your foot on the floor from the start. You notice from my sig., I have no performance mods yet. There are several people from Houston on the board who do. They would be happy to show you just how easy it is to hang with you. Even with our automatic and smaller engine.

By the way, I have nothing against Ford or the Mustang. I think its a great car for its design purpose, a low cost, low tech hot rod. My wife drives a F250 Superduty Powerstroke and I was seriously considering buying a Cobra when I bought the CL-S. However, I prefer the comfort and luxury of my Acura. When I'm not putting more expensive luxury coupes / perfomance coupes in place, its nice to kick back and enjoy the ride.

oooh... a spanking...

how delightfully kinky!

I guess I never realized that rustang owners got together every saturday night to spank each other on westheimer...

makes sense, though, what with all the "alternative lifestyles" down there off montrose...

so are you the "pitcher" or the "catcher"?

I hope you're at least using protection.

Mustang112,

Take your monkey ass back to the land of www.pleasecallmytowtruckdriver.com and beat it!

I have owned several Mustangs and I can tell you this - your ass should beat a V6 you fuckin' moron! If you ever lose to a V6, turn in your keys and go back to driving Escorts and Festivas - or the Windstar you reject of a soccer mom!

I hope a CL-S takes you up on that offer to race and sticks to you like glue, or better yet - spanks your ass!

Take your 1 single aggrevating post and scram - you rabble rouser!

Yes, yes, I'm a "rebel rouser" and all. But no one has stepped up for a little run yet. All I'm sayin is that my "rustang" can eat you acura (rice!!!) for breakfast anyday. Yes, I live in Houston and I have seen plenty of CL-S's on the road....so if anyone has any balls at all, why not back up what you say and pull up to the line and lets see who wins.

Oh, no doubt you should be able to whip me in a race, but I'd much rather drive my car for all trips longer than say.........14 seconds. Rice or not, here are some facts.

1 - My car would most likely still be in one piece and in great operational shape with an excellent resale value at the end of financing the loan.

2 - You'll pull more chicks with your car, I'll pull the women with mine.

3 - I'll always get better gas mileage than you ever will - saving me mucho pesos over the life of the car.

4 - My insurance will always be cheaper than yours will be.

5 - Any fool can steal a Mustang in a matter of seconds. Hell, that's what I used to learn how to drive a stick and practice my car thievery as a rambunctious teen (reformed ex-criminal with no history of being caught, thank you very much!). Acuras aren't hard, just takes a little longer than a Ford.

6 - A Base model "Ricemobile" will always be a better vehicle than any Mustang you present. Remember, this isn't about speed, you'll win that hands down, but as for comforting features, I'd choose ACURA anyday.

7 - I just love that Navigational system Ford is offering to you guys, a free Rand McNally paper roadmap with every purchase - comes in handy trying to read and drive while getting lost and calling up the tow truck company at the same time.

Like I said before, I have owned several Mustangs, and yes they are good cars - Acuras are just better - PERIOD! And before you ask, check the above answers as to why I no longer own a Mustang.

fyi: it's rabble rouser. "rebel rouser" is a song making a pun off the phrase...

you're the brainiac who failed to pick a time and/or place. "westheimer on saturday night" is pretty vague for a 20 mile stretch of road in a city of 4 million people. maybe if you narrowed it down a bit there might be more interest... how about picking a saturday in february to meet at houston raceway park?

shouldn't you be taunting the f-body guys, anyway?

oh, that's right. your "pony" car came neutered from the factory.

well, I guess it makes sense for you to troll the import forums when you can't can't run with your competition. I hear the isuzu rodeo forum has been mouthing off again. I bet you could teach those guys a lesson or two about mustang superiority...

I am new to this board, but I am fairly certain that I could BEAT a stock Mustang GT with my stock V6. Of course, I could just drop in a chip and make sure you have NO doubt as to your own inferiority. I do like Mustangs, don't get me wrong. It is a cost effective way to go fast. Very fast. But there are cars that can beat it. I know I can beat one, and I think that given the right conditions, a CL-S could beat one. A little tip, you probably shouldn't use the word rice when describing a CL-S, especially a stock one. Besides being a deragatory term in some aspects, I would NEVER call an Acura 3.2CL type S in stock for rice. Luxury is another term that comes to mind.

From the boards I am on, the majority of Mustang drivers are well aware that stock for stock, the Z28s and TAs will beat them. A little freindly rivalry isn't bad though and the performance difference isn't so great as to render the Mustang driver w/o a chance.

One thing I find funny is that many Stangers like to use the same combacks as many of the import guys do...that the Mustang has better styling, interior, build quality, etc. than the CamBirds...

There is always going to be the occasional jerkoff in a crowd/messageboard whether they drive Mustangs, Chevys or imports, but thats life. The majority of guys here aren't biased against me and my Mustang, just as the majority of readers on a Mustang messageboard wouldn't be toward imports.

Houston Raceway Park? Well, there's a good 1/16th mile you could run at the entrance, but seeing as how it's not open Saturday, you'd prolly run into the locked gate at the end.
