you going to hate me, but here is another unpleasant surprise

OK, today morning was the morning after a rain, and my car car was all wet in the drops of rain. So I opened the window, and started driving. Once I stoped on the stop sign, about a gallon of water ( well, not a gallon but a lot) leaked in the window from the roof all over my window control buttons... Luckily, I did not get any short circuit problems.
You going to blame me and say that I complain a lot, but don't you think that watter from the roof should not leak inside the window ?? I dont remeber anything like that happening on my older car. Usually cars have liners on the edge of the roof so water does not go inside the window...
Why is it not present on CL??

True most cars do have "gutter" like things to keep water from going in your car but then again you shouldnt have opened the window when your car was soaked

Typical american consumer.

"Why don't the manufacturers do things to prevent me from my own ignorance?"

Yeah - blame the people that make it for not putting a $2 part on it instead of you not rolling your window down.

Great idea.

So you are not supposed to open your windows when your car has drops of water on it?
Nothing like this happened to me before on other cars....

Dude....this happens to almost every car. At least 2 doors from what I've noticed. Unless you get those cheesy plastic shields...

Well, simple design change would help for the future models. All they need is to have 1/4 inch deep gutter right on the edges of the roof, and problem would be solved.... I've seen it on many cars, and it seems to work fine. If you look closely on CL's roof, you will see its totaly flat on the edges.

Most cars DO NOT have a rain rail anymore. It virtually disappered with the implementation of recessed glass.

You complain about small things dude. Then dont drive your car in the rain. Just take the bus to work.

well, i had the same thing happen to me this am, the volume of water that came in was a total shock.
one does not think to worry that he is going to get a bath when opening 1 window. sorry, there is no excuse for poor design. i have had many cars and never had a sheet of water "drop" in like today.
and how would one know of this till it happens. i guess i will know better

Allright!!! Someone finally agreed with me, that this is poor design. Not a major thing, but simply design flaw!
Maybe engineers never thought about this problem, they were to consern with Horse power

Next somebody will bitch that it's zaino's fault or such for making such a product that causes those huge water beads on the roof after polishing. Good idea to drive a little after rain with the glass closed.

Rain gutters would not add to the looks of the car and they would create wind noise.

I'd rather just keep my windows closed when there's water on the car.

If it really bugs you, you can always go buy some of those ugly smoked plastic shields.

This is not a design flaw. I prefer not to add $2 part to my moonroof only to pay for it later when its broken or out of warranty.

What if the $2 part doesn't work? I mean there are tons of great ideas I wish cars would have (ie.. a radio communicator so you can curse and swear at the guy who you got cut off).

Gosh I think driving around with the moonroof open when your car is wet is a bad idea in general.

You might want to build your own gutter thing and market it to people so that they don't have to experience the same trouble you have.

Hey a little water get's in side your car even with the window up in a heavy down poor. you can prevent it.. other wise you would not be able to roll the windows down.. it drains out the bottom of the door..
