XM radio
I bought an aftermarket XM radio for $50.00 and connected it through the tape player. It is awesome.
As good as the wife's radio sounds in her $1000 Cadillac system. It sounds better than my CD player. If you don't connect through the tape player but through the FM radio it sounds very tinny.

You don't have to pull the radio out to get access if you have small enough hands. Taking off the side panels on the center console is all you need to do. I am not sure what year your car is, but it should be as simple as popping off the trip on the center console and remove the screws on the top and slide the two sides out. I know in the 00-02 year the auxiliary plug was on one side and a different in the 03 year. I am sure you can find it by reaching behind the stereo. There should be more detailed instructions under off-topic->audio/video forum. If you need anymore help, please ask.
