20.4 seconds to be exact!
Now I know why all the ricer cars up here run their Civic DX's without hub cap covers (black stock rims). They must really fly!!!
Damn, maybe I should get some wheels with hub cap covers for my CLS. That why I could pop them off right before a race!
I'm also considering grinding down the outside of the wheels and drilling holes in them to save more weight. That way my wheels won't be balanced so when I "cruise" around I'll look like my car has hydraulics.

Actually rotational mass does effect the 1/4 mile time.... though I don't think a hub cap will chop 2 seconds..... I think more like 4 seconds.... just kidding.
The truth is for every 1 pound extra rotational mass, it's the same has having 5 pounds of static weight in the car. Also, generally, (on average) 100 lbs of static weight results in .1 seconds in the quarter mile. My Chrome GTX rims weighed about 25lbs extra apiece. So for the 2 front ones, that was 50 lbs. more rotational mass for me versus a GTP with stock rims. 5x50 is 250 lbs. or approximately .25 seconds in the 1/4. If you look at my times, I was on average .2 to .3 seconds slower than a normal GTP the exact same mods as me and identical 60' times, and similar weather settings.

Volkswagen
lol, this reminds me of my friend back in high school who had a volkswagen sirocco (spelling?) he did a bunch of engine work (pistons, cam, intake, FI mod's)... but it still wasn't fast enough... so he took out the rear seats, and cleaned the trunk a bit... still not fast enough. So he took out the remaining interior including the carpeting, and everything that wasnt neccessary... so with one seat left, and a few guages he drove it around...
lol...
And then he put it all back together and bought a Mustang, and dropped a 460 in it![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
my point! there's no replacement for displacement! (Well accept those damb winkel engines!! heh 1.1L 250hp!! crazy)
Funny how people totaly ruin their cars to add a .1 of second.
of course mabye they dont think it's ruined...

Hmmmm...
1lb rotational = 5 pounds static
I think I'm going to use an angle grinder on my stock rims and grind about 10lbs off of each wheel....
10 x 4 x 5 = 200lbs static weight
.2s faster in the 1/4!!!
Of course if I hit a bump the rims'll probably snap!!!

28x5=140lbs of static weight! .1-.15 off!! tite.
