Worth trying to trade???

Sup,

So I find the dealership I bought my CL from has just gotten a 2000 prelude SH on the lot. From the pics its already has some mods, what i can tell is CAI and exhaust.

Now, Ive always LOVED ludes, but I love my CL too.

Anyway, how many of you think its worth trying to work a trade in on the car? Seeing as I sold before I know my chances at doing what I want are slim to none, but there is always that small chance theyll go for it.

I'm just a little torn cause i havent had my CL too long and I do like it, but man preludes were always my total favorite.

So what do you guys think some pros and cons are? would you do it if you if you were in my shoes? Thanks.

I like the ludes too, but one thing i really hate about them is the interior, it just plain sucks.

Im kinda confused on your story, what is the difference on trade-in, how many miles on the lude, and do they have a non-SH available, if so, i would go for that one.

Its a 2000 SH with 47K
My CL is 99 with 30K

Im not going to go into into details of cost, trade, owed, purchase. I know what I'm going to ask if i talk to them and I know its a long shot.

And i love the ludes interior, Im just torn at giving up the few small "luxuries" the CL has, that and the slightly larger size.

Do you need a bigger car? Do you have kids? Do you tend to haul people around it your back seat? What are your trunk space requirements?

Then comes the financial part. What the trade would be, etc...

This may sound :ghey:, but list out all the pros/cons. That may help you better draw a conclusion.

Chrisbert, the SH package lets you take crazy ass corners at sick speeds cause of the ATTS suspension, but people like to charge way more for them cause they are more rare. base ludes sold better cause they still handle really well and most people didnt need the extra handling power for the cost when they were new.

Why not just swap the lude's h22 engine in your car and upgrade your suspension? It would probably be cheaper and you would get to have the CL luxury with the speed of the lude.

Not worth it to me to screw with my CL that much and it wouldnt be cheaper because we are still talking finanacing and not outright purchasing because i dont have that kind of cash.

I always liked the Prelude. They killed it just as it was getting really good. Go figure.

I agree with scrib. List everything out and find out how much difference insurance and all that would be. I think the ludes look awesome (better than the previous generation CLs) but the interior is kinda wack like you said. I think either way you will have a pretty hot car.

my car has 30K (LOW!)
lude has 47K (bout right mileage wise)

mods are a aem cai, dont know whos e/h but its all looks very clean and nicely done.

the mods worry me in a sense that i dont know how hard the car has been driven and no there is no warranty. I would more then likely have to buy an extended warranty just to cover my butt with the ATTS suspension.

So all that and the fact that my insurance will go up...looks like i am going to stick with the CL in the end. I had spoken to the sales manager and felt pretty confident i could have gotten close to the deal i wanted (helps when youve sold cars before.) But stupid shit like ext warranty and insurance always gets in the way.

Also looking back, I probably overpaid for my car, couldnt have known at that time because who knew the CL would be disconintued and value would FALL. But of course i didnt buy the car because of its holding value, I got it cause i like it.

Oh well, sucks. I will always and forever LOVE the prelude (3rd and 5th gens) and this wouldnt have been an issue if that fucker hadnt creamed mine last sept

Thanks to those that replied. Its nice to have pipe dreams sometimes...

Long live the LUDE!!!
