Are women welcome?!?! :)

I just purchased a new 3.2 CL and picked it up on May 4--see my sig. for why it's not a Type S. So far so good, although I am starting to hear a rattle on the passenger side that I haven't been able to pinpoint yet... I have given up the Ford (argh!) and regained my credibility with my clients.

Been lurking here for a week or so, so I don't make an ass out of myself. Now a question for those of you who purchased your CL's from Rosenthal Acura. Do they have the new cupholders or not? Mine doesn't and the parts people claim to have no idea what I'm talking about. Overall, my experience with them was fine and they gave me a great deal, but perhaps that's because I am a consultant for Honda. I'll use any edge I can to get the best deal. (I should have converted a long time ago!)

So, gentleman (and the few ladies that appear to be here), that is my story and I'm sticking to it...

All people are welcome here, car or no car, Acura or no Acura. See my sig for the part number of the newest cupholder. Search the Frequently Asked Questions and you will find pix I posted there as well. Welcome to the board.

I have already followed your advice, and gave the parts manager the number, etc. He claims that a notice would have gone out to all dealers, with a change in the part number. He further says that that part number has been the same since the introduction of MY01, so there is no "upgraded" cup holder.

Maybe I will have to be a bit more persistent...

Welcome, and have the dealer check the hooks for the tailpipes... Mine were unhooked and rattled for the first week I had the car. They fixed them and they still rattle. Just waiting for my Comptech exhaust to get here to resolve the problem.

"How YOU doin'?"... Now to catch up on a few things:

1. I guess you could call me a political babe. I've been in DC since '92 so I believe it's in my blood by now.

2. I'm 27 years old, obviously female, and first generation Italian-American.

3. Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to many, ahem, spirited discussions...

Alright, now I must leave to go buy a car cover...too many more rainy days in DC and I will have craters in the paint. Ciao!

About the cupholder...

My dealer said the same thing and he swore it hadn't been changed. So I made him come out to the parking lot, look at mine and then walked him over to a new CL and made my point. He was dumbfounded, but ordered one for the new TL and it fit (with minor modification). Hope that helps.

Yes, you will or you may contact Wayne Gruen at Park Avenue Acura in Maywood, NJ. He monitors this board and would be glad to get you the cupholder that matches the part number in my sig. Your current dealer has his head up his you know what and he needs a plexiglas window to see out. We call it a "cranial rectal inversion".

Welcome to the board, and keep on the dealer about the cupholder.

I ordered the part number from my dealership 2 days before my 15K mile service and it was there waiting for me when I arrived.

They wouldn't put it in for me though, because of the 2 clips, they couldn't force it in the spot but said that I could buy it and do it myself, duh

So, even if they say it won't fit or whatever, have them order it for you and pay the $7 and put it in yourself.

Again, welcome (and don't pay too much attention to amir and the other overly-excited guys on the board)

That's what I'm doing. It's getting tiring driving with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on my drink to keep it from spilling.

And thanks for the warm welcome. Though I can't believe how excited some people are over my appearance--I'm just a girl...nothin' special.

MFNLAW- welcome to the board. We have the

Yes, when I initially viewed the question and saw that females and cupholders were used in the same thread, I took it quite literally!

But then Nootch brought me back to reality!

Keep drivin' and dreamin' (at least that what it feels like when I drive my CL-S).
