Windshield Wiper Question

My windshield wipers skip across the windshield on the downward sweep. They look fine and they clear all the water on the up sweep. Help please?

Do you mean its not touching the windshield at all on the downward sweep or it makes that stuttering sound on the downward sweep? If its stuttering try the Icon's a little more pricey the edge does lay all the way flat on the passengers edge but definately worth the extra money IMO...You can get them at almost any Autozone....

I haven't used my wiper in snow or rain and I hardly turn them on anymore but, when I was back in D.C. the Icon's seemed to work much better in the ice and snow than any other blade I have used....IMO...Sounds like you need to replace those blades buddy

You can get a film buildup on the glass that wil make the blade skip. Rain-X will also cause skip if it builds up.

Try cleaning the glass with a good cleaner or take a tip from the old farts and use some coca-cola rinsed off with water. For some reason coke does a great job on glass.

Do you have problems with the silicone wipers grabbing and making noise? Silicone gets very sticky if it isn't completely soaking wet. I noticed they would grab and chatter very badly if it was just misting outside vs. pouring rain.

the arms are flexible and by far the best wipers i've ever had. it rains a lot in miami.
