Will 18's rub?

I was thinking about getting some 18" Neeper Haaz, for the days I just feel like chrome, and a set of the Racing Hart 17" CP-035's, for the track and whenever else. I know the 17's will fit, but if I get the 18's with the Comptech springs, what tire size will I have to stick with to prevent majority of or all rubbing? Thanks.

Haaz

Those Haaz wheels are damn pimp if they come in the right width/offset.

Driv also makes a wheel called the Mach 5 which looks like the neepers but has a slit down each spoke... they look better if ya ask me.

Find out the width/offset of each wheel and well tell ya if it will fit or not. The diameter doesnt really matter.

I'm about to go to a wheel/tire shop now, on my way to work and when i get to work i'll post what they said, and get some opinions. Soopa, I've seen the Mach 5, and it's pimp too, and I might just end up with those, if the price is right. Thanks.

I have 18's on my car. The tires that I have are 225/40's and they don't rub whatsoever. My car is lowered with eibach sportlines which are definitely lower than the comptechs. So you should have no problem with 225-235's in a 40 series. IMHO

I don't think 18s will rub. I just got my 19s this past weekend and they fit perfectly. - 235/35/19. I have the APEXi adjustable coilovers but car is pretty low.

Thanks for all the advice! I think I'm going to stick with the Haaz, intstead of the Mach 5's because I went to the wheel/tire shop today and the guy told me that Neeper and Driv wheels are made by the same people and there getting hard to find, plus the Mach 5's cost more. Blxmjx, your "S" is phat, but how much lower is the eibach springs than the comptech, and did you have to adjust anything?

The drop on the eibach is more even then the comptech drop. The comptech drop has more of a rake. The front is lower than the back. Overall the drop is probably a good 1/2-3/4 inch lower with the eibach's. I didn't have to modify anything, no rolling of the fenders, if thats what you mean.

I have 235's on 18x7.5" rims and I rub all the time with 3 people in the car, with 1 o2 2 it's not so bad, only on big bumps...but it's only the inside of the fender rubbing on the outside of the tire, so no big deal, just a crappy sound...

type-s girl, in your opinion, or anybodys, if I got 19x7's with a 225 35 19 tire and the COMPTECH springs, do you think I would possibly rub at all?

Yea, Niche makes a 2 piece Bella that is 19x7.0, it's cheaper than the Neeper Haaz, and I believe it's the first 19 I've seen with a width of 7". Heres the pic:

The question where did you see 225/35/19 first 35 is very LP second that would make the diameter less than stock. 235/35/19 would a perfect match in terms of rev/mile.

blxmjx,

For the record, what brand rim do you have on your car? They have the Heidfeld look that I like.

Btw I think your right about the Comptech suspension setup vs the Eibach setup. I was amazed at how much the rake increased after getting the Comptech springs.

Thanks …

Al, the rims are SSR GPO-evolutions. They are 3 piece japanese racing wheels. Similar to volk racing.

astroboy, i agree, i think i'm gonna go against all odds and get these 19's. But I went to the tire calculator and it said that a 235 would be a slightly better fit than a 225, but wouldn't a 235 rub? I want the eibach springs, DAMN, I don't know what to do.

I don't know how low Comptechs go but I don't think 19x7 will be right for your car. When I bought the rims the guy actually came out and measured everything. He said that I need 19x8 and from there, the rims were custom made.

You know Type-S girl, I wish there were more like you down here. But anyways, the bella 2-piece does come in 19x8, but my ques. is, which tire would be appropriate for this wheel, a 225 or 235, b/c nitto makes both in their 555 extreme series.

All the sizes are 16x7, 17x7, 17x8, 17x10, 18x7, 18x8, 18x10, 19x7, 19x8. And offset is
+18 - +42.

+42!!!! that is cutting it real close, if anything the 225/35/19 would be the ones, I'm not sure if even that would fit with no rubbing. One thing is for sure, you're gonna have to roll those fenders!!! BTW...Sweet wheels!!!!!!!!!
