Out of curiosity, legally when you purchase a car from ebay, are you in a binding contract if you win the auction, or do you have the right to get the car inspected when you go to pick up the car before turning the money over?

No, once you win the auction the car is yours the same as if you were buying a pair of shoes. If you want it inspected you have to do it before bidding.

beats me too.
But i think it will make sense to pay or it will be binding if the contract includes that or everything is factual and there is no intent to commit fraud.

Its not that expensive of a car anymore compared to a few years ago. Especially with how the economy is running now prices have significantly dropped. Thats why I see so many young kids nowadays driving CL's. Its a very affordable car now.

cheap because the seller has no intention of selling it for 5300$ --

all he wants to do is get exposure for his ebay ad, so he gets your interest with a cheap price.

at least thats my take.

I bet his reserve was at 10k or so, maybe 9k.

What was the starting price, does anyone know?

Why is the price 5300.00 in the CL ad? Something is fishy.

Probably a scam... I see lots of cars on craigslist for cheap money, and they eventually get flagged for deletion...

Just reply to the Craigslist ad and ask the poster why the car is so cheap if you're interested so much ??

Well it's part true. 2691 6spds without nav. 820 more with nav, for a total of 3511. Here's the thread with the full breakdown.
