Lightbulb Who knows?

Not a big worry, but the illuminating light around the keyhole went out? Anybody have any clues on how one would replace it?

Yea, it's not difficult. You can also just convert it to LED if you want.

How? Any write-ups on it? I didn't see any when I did a search, not even a mention of a fuse for it. Im sure it's not hard to replace, but the thing is I don't want to alter with the ignition.

Check fuse 47 (20A) in the engine compartment fuse block.

Also, confirm that your brake lights are working as the brake light switch receives this same power and could pose a danger if they are inoperable.

If the above are confirmed to be good, remove the plastic shroud around the steering column to gain access to the key ring light and ensure that the white/yellow wire is hot (ignition off or on) and the white/black is ground with door open and ignition off. Let me know what you find...

Thanks for the replies. My SRS light has now come on? You think these two are somehow related, and is the SRS something major? Just don't have time to sift through a bunch of threads as I am just too busy.

Your airbags no longer work. You forgot to disconnect the battery before messing with electronics.

You just gotta reset the SRS light. Check the DIY list on the TL side for the DIY video. Takes about 5 mins and a paper clip.

Checked all fuses stated, and all seem to be fine. I didn't see a fuse 47 but I checked the fuse 20a engine comparment the abs one I think seemed to be fine. Didn't take apart the steering yet. I am going to look at the SRS diy and maby try and see if that solves the issue. Otherwise I was thinking, I recently had my car in the body shop and had to get the pass door repainted, and I bet thats why this is all happening.

And brake lights are working right?

Don't fear the column bro...it's all look and no action. There's maybe 3-4 screws that hold the column housing on. That's all.

Yea all brake lights are working fine. So here's what we have.
1. No light around keyhole?
2. (Something new I just noticed.)When headlights are on and key is out of ignition, the little chime no longer chimes?
3. SRS light on?
Talked to Acura and am going to take it in for a diagnostic. They also said something about a seatbelt fastner recall or something, hopefully thats it. I'm probably just going to get them to figure it out, and pay out the ass for it. Unless somebody knows exactly what problems I am having, and have a solid solution other than a SRS reset. I would like to know soon, because I am going later this week.

Do the reset. If the light goes away, no problem. If there is a real SRS problem, the light won't go away. Definitely start with the reset. 90% of SRS lights just need a reset.

Just because the light went off after a reset does not mean its been fixed or corrected in any sort of way. You're are, simply put, delaying the inevitable on an intermittent issue or problem on a very important safety feature that could one day save their life if only they had diagnosed the issue rather than just resetting the light.

I'm not sure if you have kids or not (if not, imagine your sisters boyfriends uncles parents) but would you feel comfortable with resetting there light and sending them on their way and be totally content with them driving on a highway in the middle of a very heavy rain storm. Nope, me neither.

You realize I didn't offer him any advice right? He asked for a link previously mentioned. Maybe you should be quoting someone else

Verdict is in. Was the drivers side seat belt buckle, covered by the extended warranty thank God. Told the service advisor about the info I knew about reset with a paper clip, and he laughed at me. He told me never do that, and done properly a computer needs to reset it. All in all I was happy with my experience, and was thankful it wasn't something major.

I had the SRSly light get stuck on me a couple years ago. There was some warranty extension until 150k and they fixed it for free in a day. They also gave an RDX loaner. I always thought they looked like Hyundais but it was a fun ride with a great stereo.
