Everyone likes new car eye candy.
Until I get an unhealthy mix of problems with the CL and desire for a new car, I'll keep the CL. No car payments provides the opportunity to spend money on other stupid shit you don't need.

Me big time. My last 3 cars have not lasted more than 40K mile and I bought them new. With the CL-S, I purposely bought the 100K warranty so I have to keep the car till 90K.
Hardest thing is being able to walk into most dealerships and pay cash on any trade I want. But to be honest, I'd rather save it and buy another motorcycle I have my eyes on (cost $35K).
Yee ha!!

I get the itch, but I never follow thru. With the C6 coming out, I was looking at New C5 (42K for a z06, 35k for a stripped C5 http://kerbeck.com/ ), but then I'd have to get a winter beater.
I drove my last car for 9 years, so I'll probably drive the CLS for awhile.
I'm planning on buying an older "fun car" to take the edge off tho'

CLS 6MT Navi
Yea, 2 weeks ago, sold my 'old' 6 speed and got a 'new' 6 speed.
there is nothing out there that could beat the CL at the price, features, performance. for me, esp the 6 speeds at their current prices. I always knew I would sell my first one I had a year. So now I feel like I'm just starting out since I never modded the first one. I've already started ordering mods for this one.
I feel sorry for the early G2 CL buyers who missed out on the 6 speed. I can see wanting a different car after 3-4 years with the auto CL.

If you buy what you like and keep your cars looking and running good you won’t be so easily tempted to trade.
My 2001 Slush-Box was traded after only two years, but I absolutely HATED that Tranny and I had to get rid of it.
Before that I have a pretty good history of holding onto my cars.
91 Legend Coupe 8-Years 110,000 miles
88 Daytona Shelby-Z 5-Years and 92,000 miles
Except for the 2001 CL-S “mistake”, I’ve only had three cars in the last 17-YEARS !!!
As of this past March, the Blue Blinger is paid off and I hope to enjoy at least another 3-4 years with it.
Hopefully by then, Acura will be selling a worthy replacement.

CLS 6MT Navi
I'm like Shawn I made one tiny car buying mistake, only the color was wrong.
I kept my
Honda Prelude 6 years.
88 Legend Coupe - 6 years
95 legend Coupe - 3 years.
03 CLS 6 speed white - 1 year.
03 CLS 6 speed Anthra/Navi - 2 weeks!
If Acura makes a new coupe I may get that next but Not the first year out.

I get the urge to trade when the odometer hits 10,000 miles.
Something about five digits.
But my 03 CLS6 navi is paid for and 11 months old with 15,700 on the odo.
And, although I excercise some moderate care about where I park, I am happy to report I do not yet have one single door bang or even a scratch in the paint. I consider that pretty remarkable.
And for the price, I can't see another car out there that offers what the CLS does. I may keep this car until just short of the 50,000 mile warranty. Then I will sell, or buy the extended warranty to 100,000 miles.
Besides a modest emergency fund, I believe in a zero based checking account. If I have no mad money to spend, I can't spend my money friviously. This has done wonders for the mortgage. When I send in a check (and I send in way more than what is required), it automatically generates a new bill, and this morning I wrote out my payment for September.
I guess that this is just all fate.
No dings or scratches.
Not unhappy with my car at all.
No suitable replacement car available.
There is just no way I can justify a new car, so I'll just keep plugging away on the house. I figure 3+ years to go. I'll be just short of 56.
THEN I will probably go nuts and buy something for shits and giggles in the $45-50,000 range.

I'm so disgruntled with Acura cause of the piece of glass tranny. I'll run this thing till the warranty is out then we will trade. Probably take a severe ass beating but I won't have to worry about getting stranded.
Right now the #1 car on the list for replacement is the Chrysler Crossfire with retractable top. It's primarily my wifes car and she's really liking the Crossfire. I am as well. A significant portion of that car is MB and it's got a great look to it.
