whatsup fellas... i got a question. when i turn on the ignition and shift from park to drive, and i step on the gas to move, i always hear a subtle but very noticeable whirring noise at about 300 rpm and another one at like 800 rpm. i always hear it every morning when i drive to work... and i've been hearing it as long as i had the CL. i thought it was normal, but i was just wondering if anyone else knows what im talking about.

I think I know what you're talking about, but a whirl to me might be a shoosh. All I can say is that the first 5 minutes of driving the CL is always full of little sounds or tc lockup or harder than usual shifting. After the engine warms, it all goes away and it's fine. I've never had any problems once my car warms.

mine makes a "zingy" type noise almost like a turbo spooling from inside the car, just not as loud as a turbo

maybe it's the A/C.... cuz mine makes a noise kinda like that (?) try leaving it off and see if you get the noise

no... its not the A/C. maybe only a certain number of production models have it? i was wondering what was making the noise...

It is normal. It's the VSA/ABS systems pressurizing themselves..

ohhhh the BUZZ noise. yeah thats the ABS .. I wasnt sure what you were talking about when you described it "whirring" or swoosh. its more of a "buzz" to me

It should only happen maximum two times when you first start the car.

After getting so annoyed with this same noise, I looked here. I have a 2001
CL-S. Thank you for everyone's input to help me ease my tension. My boyfriend has an 02 and I have not noticed his doing it. Might be just certain productions? Not sure.

Any other women own a CL on here?

hey, welcome there are a decent amount of female members on a-cl. off the top of my head geishagirl owns a 2nd gen cl-p, and i know that there are other female members that don't own CL's but stick around just to chat about stuff.

I love my CL. It's a beauty just stock. I have the sundance gold. From what I have seen, the Sundance Gold is the show car they used to market the 2001 Acura 3.2 CL. One thing about the color, you either hate it or you love it. Most people here in Utah do not like it, but there are those few (including me and my boyfriend) that is in love with the color.

Any ideas for mods? I haven't gave it much thought on any mods yet. If I did, I don't even know what I would do!

I got 01 Sundance Gold as well and I luv the color. Rare, rare, rare..
