Where to buy Comptech Axle Back exhaust (in stock)?

Hey guys,

I tried ordering the Comptech Axle Back Exhaust this past weekend from www.c-c-c.net but they said its backordered through Comptech for 3 weeks. I was hoping to get it sooner because I already scheduled an installation appt. for July 15th ... Does anyone know somewhere that already has the item in stock? Did a quick search on Google and I only found websites which said special order ~5 day shiptime which means they probably just order directly from Comptech as well. Let me know if you know anywhere with the exhaust in stock.. Thanks!!!!

There was a guy on this board by the name of Dean that worked out of florida that got comptech stuff for people. I haven't seen him on lately though. If someone could tell you his acl handle you could try him. I think his handle was deansbluesi but i could be wrong.

Not necessarily. When I got my Icebox I had it within a couple days. But they do run on the lean side of keeping a good inventory of items. So it does happens quite often but not all the time.

Go here:

www.velocityresources.com

Call or email them and see what they say. If they are backordered from Comptech then only a place that has them in stock will get them to you by the 15th. No harm in calling all the major distributors.

IIRC, doesn't c-c-c.net get their stuff from VR? ... I think I'm stuck with my order from www.c-c-c.net anyways, they only gave me until 8pm tonight to cancel my order after they sent out the email this morning, so I'll probably just end up having to wait ... I sure hope my bodykit makes it in by the 15th or else my app't is gonna be REAL short

Yeah VR does supply CCC with their stuff. Just thought it was worth it to see if maybe they had some in stock anyway.

Either way the wait shouldn't be too long.

I can check on availability for you tomorrow. There is a good chance that I can get ahold of one for you.

Comptech makes their products in cycles. One week, they would produce Iceboxes. The next week, they would cease production of Icebox and make sway bars. So on and so forth.

That's why if you get stuck out of the cycle of the part you want, you have to wait for so long. Bastards.

EVERYTHING from CT is always backordered for the CL. I waited 2 weeks or more for every CT part I ever bought.

FYI, we added several alternate vendors in the beginning of 2004 that we use for parts. This has allowed us to ship orders out much, much faster and also gives us more then one option when it comes to getting parts, but if Comptech is backordered... all vendors are affected unless they have one sitting on their shelf (which usually is not the case, especially with CL stuff).

I have never waited for a comptech part. My dealer stocks at least 4 or 5 of everything. Headers were in stock, springs, sways, icebox, brake lines, exhaust I bought from a friend .. and strut tower bar I will be buying from a friend.

Give Park Ave Acura a call they might ship out to you. www.parkaveacura.com

I don't have any mod friendly dealers that sell aftermarket performance parts. I'm glad I don't need anymore CT parts.

South FL is the issue. No sure where your going to be. If your just getting services your fine. Warranty work they will bitch at.

fuzzy02CLS, have you been to Rick Case Acura? They're mod friendly, install and sell all Comptech parts, will even install other aftermarket parts if you bring them in, and are the ones who first tried the 3.5L upgrade as far as I know. I haven't been up there in a while, but I doubt things have changed that much.

And their service was great at first, but did deteriorate a bit the last coupe times I went, after Doug and Mike left, but they'e still better than Miami dealers IMO. I'd give them a try.

Edit: And they didn't give me any BS with warranty work, not that I have a bunch of mods, but in Miami it was a bitch to get anything done so I've driven my car all the way there from Kendall the two times my trannies got fried. They also resurfaced my rotors like 2 or 3 times under warranty and replaced them the last time. I've heard from others with more mods that they're not the type that'll hassle you for warranty work.

They no longer do any of that. There performance shop has been canned for a long time now.
All the south FL dealers would not resuface my rotors becaue of the rims & suspension. It wasn't worth the stress to fight it.

Park Ave is like $50 more on the exhaust... Why would he do that? And for you.. you live in NJ... so you paid sales tax on everything... even more expensive for you.

PAA is awesome for labor (in fact, we recommend people in the Tri-State area use them for installation after they purchase from us)... but the Comptech parts are generally priced high.....

That really sucks about Rick Case. They were actually pretty good before, but the last couple times I went they did keep getting worse and worse. I noticed more young service reps with their heads up their asses each time I went. I was thinking about going up there soon for some out of warranty service but thanks for the heads up.

He asked where it would be in stock, I told him .. he never said where in stock for the cheapest price

Yes, it was more expensive, but in January I had cashed in my bonds for a couple grand and I wanted the stuff NOW .. so I bought sways, icebox, and brakelines from them, installed icebox and sways myself that weekend .. I may have paid retail but I got it ASAP which is what I wanted.

I actually called a bunch of places that usually have CT parts in stock and they all said the same thing... July 22nd would be earliest date to get exhaust.. so most ppl are out of stock
