I have been waiting for the seventh generation Honda Accord for months already, why does Honda always keep their new cars so secret? Nissan Altima were exposed several months before it actually came into market. When can we see the official picture of it?

late this year or early next year.
There's been pics posted many times here, but sorry the search is down right now...
you could try flipping though pages a few days ago and use Ctrl + F
or you can check www.vtec.net Rumors and News section for it too.

Honda always keeps new models almost like top secret infomation. Dad(which works for Honda of America) said they should have it(the 03 Accord) on display at the Las Vegas Auto show is the first time they make the first appearence.(I could be wrong too). I'd say no later than 4th of July you'll see it.

Also, I spoke to a person who works at the Accord plant in Ohio, where they hav test-built it on the assembly line. He tells me that it'll blow away the Altima and everyone there likes the styling of it, unlike the 4dr Civic he said. Also, the accord v6 coupe willl get a nabual option (prob 5speed) but am not too sure abt the 4dr. v6.

later this year?
The new motortrend has a write up on the 03 honda accord. Good news for us is that the accord will keep the same displacement. NO 240hp for the states! haha!

there's just about no chance that new new accord 6 wont have atleast a detuned version of our typeS engine, and at best a iVTEC 3.5...to compete squarly with the altima

I haven't yet received the motor break down(far as liters and how many cams) yet but
off hand(guessing) I'd say the Regular 4 cylinder yes it will have DOHC
and the "hot rod" Accord(4 cylinder) yes(this I'm 90% will be what they call a "Pass through motor" this is where it's shipped from Japan Honda to Anna,Oh(the motor plant), loaded on a truck to head to Marysville to be bolted in a car.)
(they did this with the Si until they moved them to England)
now about the V-6(I'm 90% sure they won't put DOHC in these) cause #1 they'd have to order new machines(I worked on the 2 line head line (v-6 line) 2 summers ago(and I occasionally now talk with my friends from there) they'd basically have to Overhaul that whole line and that's MAJOR MONEY:P . But if you guys like the new Accord(This is my feeling) (right now i don't but it might grow on me) I'd get the "Hot Rod" 4-cylinder cause that's like 180-190 HP(I know your saying why don't I get the 6 cylinder couple reasons #1 weight #2 all these aftermarket companies will make parts for you(I know you can get parts for v-6 accord but it's easier to get aftermarket parts for like a civic Si or Integra type R)
#3 for most of you guys if you drive aggresive probably the suspenion will be more aggresive.

I think the iVTEC "knock down" engine will be 160 (ie... the CR-V). This isn't top secret stuff.. it's been in automotive news magazine. The V6 will be the same size and configuration it is now, but with 30 extra hp. And the V6 2dr with the 6spd will have the most aggressive suspension tuning.

Isn't it amazing how Honda/Acura is one of th few car makers that can keep their plans on their next gen cars so secretive? lol Not to hate on Toyota and Nissan, but official information on the 02 Camry and 02 Altima, respectively, were out abt 6-12 months before they hit the showroom floor.
Also. on a sid ote, in the current issue of Motor Trend, the 5-yr old Accord EX-v6 4dr came second to the all new camry in a comparison test beating cars like the v6 altima, impala, taurus, etc. Not bad at all for a 5 yr. design that was originally designed in 94 lol
I know its a mag test but u figure these guys must have a clue abt what they are doing since they've been doing it for over 50 yrs.

I think I have heard someone say that the G7 Accord would have three different engines, two 4-cylinders and one V-6. The exciting one is the high-performance 4-cylinders. Is it like the Euro R in Japan? Man if so, it's difficult to decide between the V-6 and the fast-4.

well - this is only 3rd hand info, but it's from a friend of mine who is employed at one of my friendly, local Honda stealerships. He also is a car nut of the first magnitude whose garage contains a GNX and a S2000 with what looks like most of the Comptech catalog bolted on Anyway, 2 weeks ago, his story was that we here in the States get a 180 bhp - ish four banger along with a 3.2L 240 bhp V-6 along with a manual 6 speed tranny. WARNING - hearsay only, not admissible in a court of law, he's a car salesman and therefore full of shit by nature, YMMV, etc.! :P

I know this might be a wussy question but I wonder if the Accord Type R will be offered in a Automatic. (just i'm more of an Automatic dude)
by the way I saw a picture of( I don't know what country and what year but it's somewhere between a 94-01) Accord Type R (overseas model) LISTEN TO THIS!! IT WAS A 4 DOOR:P (wanna talk bout a good run for an Altima 4 cylinder .If they bring over it in a 4 door as soon as I get a good down payment and a steady job I'm putting in an order . not to be mean toward the CL and TL but they'll be 50 times more performance parts for the Accord Type R's.If I was guessing these things will sell like CRAZY
couple reasons #1 good project cars #2 if you don't like the RSX type S this is an another route that's still Honda.
not to know a type S(CL and TL) I know the CL type S is nicer(far as interior and stronger motor but can I really justify 10 grand(or close to it) for 60 more HP and Leather and stuff like that.
