Why do people keep saying this? The IMRC has nothing to do with VTEC

If your IMRC doesn't switch over @ 3800rpm then it could be bad. If your VTEC isn't switching over then you could be low on oil

IMRC means whatt(newb)?

also it kicks in at just about 5000 but its hard to say bc theres always traffic where i live so its very difficult to even get the cl up to those rpms bc by the time your there in 2nd gear your doubling the city speed limits. 48oo though is when it should kick in?

-i doubt im low on oil, just changed it but ill check after work, thanks fellas

IMRC is basically what controls the dual runner intake setup on the CLS. Quite a few people have had these go bad. If you seach the forum for it you will find pictures and probably a video of what to look for under your hood.

My VTEC also kicks in at 5K RPMs. I would know because it's pretty obvious to hear such a thing after installing an Injen CAI. I don't think much of it though .. Maybe it's a PDG thing?

Well yes I wasn't going to correct All Mine because the OP has a CLS, but they are different. http://www.geocities.com/gamesmgr/chod/acura/#Engine2

4800 RPM is when the Vtec screams. Drop it into 3rd gear and hit 4800 rpm you'll definitely feel it. At 2.4 GHz is when the Vtech rings you should hear it and answer it.

vtec activates at 4800 rpm. when i downshift above 4800, i can hear the engine change tones twice, once from the shift and a lag later, the vtec, gawd it sounds good. now i know what people are talking about

Thanks... you saved me the trouble of linking Chod's FAQ...

Every CL owner should have read that top to bottom (I know I did when I first joined) 1/4 the questions that get asked here are probably answered on that page
