Wheel damaged by road construction
The City of Austin is reworking a road by my house, and has the backtop tore up.
Last night, when driving over the construction for the first time, I didn't notice a 2" lip they left around a manhole cover. When I went over it, it bent my front right rim and broke the sidewall of my tire. Damn. Does anyone know if I can hold the city responsible for this damage? Looks like it is going to cost me upwards of $500 to get it fixed. |
I just got a new rim and tire..why?? because the same fucking thing happened to me 2 weeks ago!!!
there was a giant ass big hole one the ground..and the city hall did not place any signs or blocks near the big hole..so i just went over it..of course..blown tire and bent rim. Unless you take pics right after the accident...I think you will need a lawer for this... good luck |
They should be and i'd pursue it immediately, but don't count on them taking responsibility :(

Its nearly impossible to get money from them cos everyone and their mom would try to blame the city for some kinda damage on their cars which wasnt caused by the city.
But of course ppl like u who actually get it cos of them cant get compensated But how fast were u going that it bend ur rim... cos 2" really isnt that big. |
that blows. i'd start chaos.
