What's the difference b/w 225/40 and 215/40 on 18x7.5" rims?
#2
eg. 215/40/18
215 = width of tire in mm == 8.46 inches (divide by 25.4)
40 = height of sidewall as a percentage of width = 3.38 inchs
18 = wheel diameter
total diameter is wheel + 2 sidewalls = 24.8 inches (vs stock 25.7)
for 225/40/18 total diameter = 18 + 2x(0.4*225/25.4) = 25.1 inches
for 235/40/18 total diameter = 25.4 inches
*** Note this is all in theory. It's best to check the actual tire diameter as specified by the manufacturer. Also, tire width depends on what width of wheel it was measured on.
eg. the same tire will be wider on a wider rim.

215/40 is too small.
Go with 225/40/18 or 235/40/18 or your speedo will be off because the overall diameter will be much different then stock.

215s r gonna look stupid on 18 x7.5... the tires will not wrap the rims all the way.. so that means u will scratch ur rims if u hit the curb instead of ur tires.
