Whats Acura mean?

Ive been thinking...does the word Acura have any sort of meaning?

i guess it's kinda like 'accurate' but not quite.

what the hell does 'honda' or 'toyota' or 'nissan' mean?

it's just a name.

Honda is the last name of the guy who started Honda (first name Sochiro?).

Yeah, Acura is from "accurate." It's a manufactured word. Lexus is supposed to be "luxury." Sentra is "central" and Nissan was the dude's name. See, I learned something in those college business classes!

Now I know a Corolla is a part of a flower, but what the hell is a Camry, Celica, or Previa?

The true fact: The word 'Acura' is derived from the word 'precision' in several different languages. Not 'accurate', thought the two words are somewhat related.

BTW, this was in the last issue of Acura Driver magazine.

Hmmm. Funk 'dat. Not to change the subject, but I was wondering the other day if they even still published Acura Driver. Ihaven't gotten one in months.

Me either. I think it's a seasonal thing (like 4 issues a year?).
