What should I do about the Navi code?

This morning when I started my car to go to work. I noticed the navi screen poped up asking for a code. I dont know if this menu pops up once in awhile for security reasons. SO now I can't use my mapping and such but the thing is I bought the car used and don't have the cd code or the navi code. I know I can go to the acura dealer but they will tell me I have to call the dealer they got the car from and such. If I disconnect the battery will it reset the code so I can enter a new one?

I think if you take the car to any Acura dealership with proof of ownership and VIN in hand they should be able to get the code for you.

On a side note, either your battery must be dying or you have an electrical problem because it shouldn’t be asking you for the code unless the system lost power.
Maybe a loose battery cable ???

But how would the dealership know the Navi code? Because isn't it chosen by the owner of the car or set by the owner of the car I mean?

the radio should ask you for a code as well if a power loss happend, its strange that only the navi asked you for this

No the code is not chosen by the owner, its set by acura.

Thanks guys... I went to the acura dealer couple of weeks ago and that service guy was so lazy he told me I have to call the dealership that the previous owner got the car from and he just gave me a phone #
