What is the HP powertrain loss?
what is the difference in power loss to the power train, when coparing the CLS 5at to the 6spd? I thought it was 20-25% for the 5AT and 15-20% for the 6spd. Before you say - I already searched.

TQ > MPG
I have always heard the following:
FWD manual - 15%
FWD automatic - 20%
RWD manual - 18%
RWD automatic - 23%
AWD manual - 20%
AWD automatic - 25%
Now, remember that these are just general numbers. A Honda tranny is not going to have the same exact efficiency as a Chevy. If I were you I wouldnt worry about how much it "loses" rather just compare whp & wtq number to other cars.
FWIW, I put down 218whp/206wtq in my bone stock 6 speed, which would make the drivetrain loss 16.5% IF it is really making 260hp at the crank.

i'm confused as hell.....
Ok when you get your car ran on a dyno, you get whp, which stands for WHEEL horsepower right? What does this mean??
When you look at a cars stats, they show CRANK horsepower, which stands for what? it ain't chp? And what does CRANK horsepower mean. What is the actual horsepower the car is producing. And if its wheel horsepower, why are cars HP & Tq referred to the crank horsepower?
If I were to mod my car, say put H/I/E/P you kno...how much horsepower would I say i have? Would I tell them my crank hp or my wheel?? Confusing shit

I think it would have to be WHP because you'd probably get measure at a typical dyno shop which would measure you hp/tq at the wheels. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also crank hp is BHP I believe. Base hp, Bore hp, Brake hp....I've heard them all, including the arguments over which is correct.
