This morning after leaving my car ouside overnight at a friends, I noticed a nasty smell coming from the air vents. I popped the hood and found the black shit that is on the firewall everywhere! A giant chunk of the black sheeting was missing from the firewall - it was shredded up a caked all over the place. The stuff was wet (just washed car at auto-car wash) and just smelled like shit!!Anyone know what this is (looks almost like asbostos, but I really doubt that they would, or can, use this stuff still)?
Think it is possible that the car wash knocked the stuff loose?
I cannot figure out what the hell happened
