What do you dislike about your CL?
#82
It's already been said, but this thread is great.. seeing some commons problems the CL has. I've only had mine for about a week and coming from a 92 Legend LS Sedan, I'm happy with the performance increase. I don't mod my car cause I dont have the cash. This car was the perfect price for performance/luxury/comfort comparison.
I gotta admit the bose speakers leave something to be desired so who knows once I can get some cash saved up after buying this beast. The ride, steering, and acceleration feels much tighter than the Legend. That was definetly one amazing car, I'll never forget it, but the CL is so much better in so many ways.
The turning radius isn't quite as tight as the Legend though, so that's a bummer but who cares. The engine has plenty of power for me, but hey seems like most of you all have driven BMWs, etc.. so maybe I've never been "pampered" before. I've got a navigation system, tinted windows, no scratches on body or tires, this car was taken care of before I got my hands on it.
All in all, for at least a week, I've been damn happy with my purchase :-D

My 2001 (July 2000)
-Driver seatbelt don't retract correctly.
-The pleather part of the driver seat is cracking on the left corner under my left thigh.
-Rear seats should fold down.
-auto-up windows (both)
-better cup holder.
So far so good at 85k miles.

'01 CL-S (65K)
Paint terrible (silver)
Wheels damage easily
Michelins are expensive delicate crap -- I replaced w/ Conti Extreme Contacts: much better and half the price
Tangling seatbelts
Rotors warp at the drop of a hat
Roaring sunroof (small opening too)
Rattles
Foglites like xmas lites (last as long, too)
Sequential shifter tries to out think you
Rearview mirrors obstruct vision
Climate control weak

What exactly is the malfunction on your mirror?
You have yours on 19's, is it lowered at all?

yes...it's on 19s and lowered. i do want to lower the rear a finger or two though...
the rattle is driving me CrAzY!!! it sounds like it's coming from the rear...near the back window, but when i have a passenger in the back, i turn off the radio and they have said it sounds like it's coming from the front. what??? unbelieveable how many on this thread have complained about the rattles. i just put up the radio
love my cl though...

I've never had a problem with the rattle. Maybe I can get it to rattle once I put some speakers in there.
I do hate the damn squeekin noise that my seat makes. The lever that adjusts the lumbar support on the driver seat rubs against center console with where I have the seat adjusted to. That drives me nuts, haven't figured out a way to get rid of it without takin off the lumbar lever. hmmmm :sqnteek:
I can't stand the "fog lights", but I'm takin care of those this weekend.
Otherwise, I love my CL, knew I was going to buy it the minute I sat in it.

the first week i got my cl, i had to upgrade the fogs. the factory ones were really weak. i bought piaa bulbs and they made a big difference.

I'd have to go with the self warping rotors - on my 4th set of warrany rotors at 44K. The crystalline transmission was a fun experience too -replaced at 23K. And really, is there ANY difference between the CL-P and CL-S suspensions? My CL-S corners like a Sea-Ray rounding a buoy if im over 25 miles an hour. But it is the epitome of a highway rocket - I can make the 400 mile Charlotte-DC trip in 5 hours without stopping and not feel like i've been driving.

WOW, THAT's ALL!!! I bet ALL of you that posted on this where either waxing or washing that lovely machine, it felt good when you drove it today 'n you forgot all you were complaining about.

I forgot the dot matrix on the top of the rear window. (which Honda has since stopped using)
Also the way the b-pipe hangs low in the rear. The stock one looks awful and the CT replacement while "better looking" can still be eaisly seen. This is probably my biggest gripe about the car.

lets see.. I'm not too fond about the gas mileage, rattling noises, and stock cd player (always skips at the end of some of my cd's)...oh yea and the weak ass paint ..that gets to me the most!

One thing I've noticed that I dislike is the windshield wiper fluid streams back onto the passenger side windows and if you're not going fast enough, it stays there and dries and leaves a god awful mess.
Another thing is when it rains, water must be spewing up from the street and gets on the door sill. Water never gets in the car, but when I open my door, there's water there. It's quite annoying cuz it dries and make marks.
