What to do about broken stabalizer link?

Has anyone else experienced this? I saw a lil info in the faq. When I had my springs installed last week, the guy said the rear stabalizer link was broken. He welded it back as a temp solution. This is a warranty job isn't it? Anyone else have this prob? What did you do? I'm not too worried cuz I'm changing the sways anyway but won't be for a while. I just took my car to Acura for the 30 k service and they told me everything looked fine??? I don't think they did a good job checking the entire car. For $399 service they damn well should pay more attention to the service they charge so much for. For those that don't know what it does, it makes the car feel like there is no rear sway or degrades the full function of the rear sway.

Just get it replaced. It's just 2 nuts to remove. Quick and easy. I think they're pretty cheap to.

BTW: The new sways won't come with end links, so you'll need to replace it sometime.

What does it feel like on the road when driving. How could someone be able to test their car to see if there is a problem. I know ovbiously look underneath the car and see if it is broken but how could I notice it on the road?

As stated in faq, it's very un-noticable but a couple of members have felt the difference. For me, the ride seems fine but just to know that something down there isn't right makes me think like "how is this car supposed to feel with a 100% operational sway?" Just like Wires said; just get new sways. I might as well go all Eibach since I have the springs anyway. What I wanna know is what causes the rear stabilizer link to break in the first place?

Mine broke at about 30,000 miles and it was replaced under warranty. When they took it off, they said it had a bad weld. My commute involves a very curvy drive on Hwy 17 and I could tell something was wrong but I thought it was low tire pressure. They actually found it by accident while performing other service.

Yeah...I just did my brakes yesterday and had been hearing a noise...like whiteknight said I thought it was a flat tire or maybe my coilovers. The diff you notice is that when you go into a turn or sweeper (left sweeper, mine right rear endlink broke) is more lean and a bit of dip your not used to feeling. When the sways are on...your ride and turns feel tighter and crisper. Also, the steering feels a slight bit vaguer(?)

Did the dealer weld it back on? If not, you may have a problem getting it fixed under warranty. In any case, it's a cheap, & easy part to replace yourself.

The guy at the shop where I got my springs installed welded it back but said I should just have it replaced if it's still under warranty. What's the deal w/ the factory sway anyway? Are they just poor quality? In a few weeks i'm hoping to get the entire Eibach package to complete my suspension. Hmmm, I wonder if the TSX will have as many problems as our Cl-s...I mean being that they're 100% from Japan an all???

I think someone posted some pics of a side by side comparison when they were changing their sways. Forgot who it was. Pics please, anyone?

The sway has nothing to do with it. All replacments are just the bar. The factory links are used in all cases.

I had 3 of 4 stabalizer links broken by a shop when installing my sways - I was soooo pissed, I was dumb enough to pay for them....I am still mad at myself for that one - They were like 25 bucks a piece

I think for the mostpart these links break due to bad welds. That's what the guy that installed my springs said. Many of us may be driving around w/ broken links and not even know it. I think it's a good idea to check it out during maintenance. At least so your ride isn't compromised
