What DIY tutorial would people want the most for the CL?
Ya, I'm bored and was thinking about trying to make a contribution here since this site has been so helpful with me trouble shooting things over the years.
I was wondering what BASIC DIY would people like to see. Obviously this won't apply to the more veteran members but may help the fairly new ones.
So I thought of doing a DIY video on one of the following since it seems that people always ask how to do these particular ones. If anyone else can think of anything else, toss in your input.
1.) Transmission Fluid Change
2.) Spark Plug Change
3.) Throttle Body Cleaning
4.) In-Cabin Air Filter Change
Feel free to toss in your input unless you want me a DIY on an engine swap, cause then you're sh*t out of luck.. lol.

header install is pretty straight forward tho... remove the old manifolds and j pipe and install the new. assuming u can get the bolts off it's pretty straight forward... you don't have to remove anything else to get the job done.
i did it in under 2 hrs i timed it. (maybe that's just me tho) in my driveway with a 1/2 good right hand... lol i was icing it while in between going under the car.

straight forward yes but like... my mom should be able to do them.. I think some people are afraid to attempt it due to the unknown tools needed. it's a regular maintenance thing, like the tranny fluid and filter change.. that's what the OP was referring to i believe.. something everyone can utilize since they have to do them

I mean, I know none of these tasks are hard but some people get worried that they might be doing something wrong even if it is a very simple job.
I know for myself that having piece of mind to know that you're doing something that is exactly right makes me feel good.

I know spark plugs and tranny fluid DIYs are over on the 2G TL side because I used them. Not sure about 3 and 4.
I like what you want to do though. I got all of my knowledge from this site and enabled me to do things I had thought I would need to go to a shop for. Even little, straight forward things need DIY, for example, brake pads. I say this because theres sometimes little tricks involved in doing it, and sharing your DIY would let everyone else know about it and sometimes people have no prior knowledge of doing these "simple" things (me)

I'll do a tranny fluid DIY this weekend. I know tranny fluid DIY are all over the site, but I figure a video would work great but it can be kind of long to watch for people who need it and I'm not a great video edit person to shorten it down to the important parts.
I'll see how the video turns out

This is a good idea Pits.
I personally would like see any DIY that Jproy or NVA-AV6 could come up with. Those guys make complicated stuff sound easy. For instance a 3.6 build, or a mp90 sc conversion would be cool to see step by step. Unlikely though.
Ok seriously I would like to see someone do a DIY for fender rolling/trimming and just generally fitting wide wheels.

Shit, maybe I should have made a video when I rolled my rear fenders. If I do my fronts I may make a video of it.
Id say 3 or 4. Mostly 4 since the dealer charges stupid money for such a simple job. A small tutorial can help people save alot of money.

Yea dealer wanted 95 to replace the cabin air filter... It's 18.99 at autozone and 5 plus shipping on ebay. Either way I'm doing it myself soon so if he can cover ATF I'll get the cabin air filter.

No problem, but the video would be the 07TL tranny sitting next to my car at a shop and me handing a guy a few thousand dollars to put it in, not sure if that would exactly be helpful. ha

Washer Fluid??? I thought that blue cap thing was for our brake fluid?? I wondered why I needed 4 things of Dot 4 brake fluid and why my paint was looking so bad.

When putting my washer fluid in, I use it as an opportunity to clean my engine bay, especially the alternator since that's where most of it ends up.

Ha. My buddy was cleaning his engine with the engine degreaser at one of those self service washes and he must have shorted something electrical out cause the car wouldn't start after. I'm scurred to clean my engine bay now.

scurred LOL.
I know people that POWER WASH their engine bays. I dunno how they don't run into problems (i'm sure some do), but I do all my cleaning by hand when it comes to in the bay area.
i cannot phathom how you can look at all those wires and electronics and just go ahead and power wash them all. makes me laugh.
not saying u'll definitely screw something up, it's just not my cup of tea

Power washing an engine bay is all relative to the kind of car you have. Pop the hood of a new car, you can't see anything, it's pretty much all covered in plastic.
Getting your engine bay wet isn't the problem with power washing, its the,,,, power which may break something.
But with cars that use to have distributor caps, thats when getting the engine wet could cause a problem and lead to your car not starting after washing it.
