I BROUGHT my car in for service at valley stream acura(li). I asked them about doing an install of comptech headers. They said they are not authorized to install and if I did, I would void my warranty. What bullshit. How do I respond to them keeping in mind that I want it done by a dealer and i want to keep a relationship with them. I would love to have you do it but it is not in my time budget right now.

I don't think all Acura dealers are certified to do the install. Either way it's not going to void your warranty, but since they don't know how to do the install, they probably don't know that it doesn't void the warranty.....

BSK- I don't think you would want to have them do the install if they don't really want to. The federal Magnussan Act outlines the rules for warranty/guarantee. The warranty cannot be voided just because you have a mod on your vehicle. If there is a problem, it would have to be proven that the mod was the cause in order to void that part of the warranty. We use mostly Comptech because of their close affiliation with Honda/Acura and their parts all fit with no problem.
We can do the mods in 1 day if time is a problem. Give us a call at 201 587-0029 and we'll see what we can do.
