Premium fuel is going for ~$2 here in Chicago. Today I got lucky at a marathon station and filled for $1.91.

I usually pitch all junk mail without reading it. But there was one from Shell, so I took a look.

Inside are two coupons, both good for $2 off if you buy 10 gallons of any Shell "new and reformulated" gasoline.

Watch the dates on the coupons. One expires on 9/14, the other on 9/28. So, $20 of gasoline can cost you only $18, or $1.80 a gallon for those of you who are challenged by mathematics.

1.91 sounds nice. 2.30 out here in souther california. outrageous, but they have me by the balls. at least i don't have to spend 4.00 like people in arizona.
