Warranty Transfer

Warranty Transfer
I am having the hardest time getting the Acura Care warranty transfered over to my name on an acura CL that i recently bought. I get varying answers from different dealerships in my area and on the phone with Acura in Cali. Everyone likes to send me to someone else.
Does anyone have any experience in transferring their Acura care warranty?
Thanks

No experience yet... although this is one of the main reasons i bought it... I beleive you have to have consent from the original purchaser (regardless of whether or not the car is now yours) and you have to pay a transfer fee (something less than 100 bucks IIRC)
get in touch with acuracare themselves and have them do the transfer...

Whats up with RDX owners?

In my owners manual there was a postcard to send to Honda for the transfer of ownership. Not sure if that had anything to do with the warranty though, as mine is already out.

I recently had the Acura extended warranty transferred to my 2003 CL. The original purchaser of the extended warranty may transfer it once: after that, it's non-transferable.
In order to make the transfer happen, you need the person who purchased the extended warranty to consent, in writing, to make the transfer. The transfer request needs to say something like "I [original purchaser] authorize transfer of the extended warranty [include contract number] to [current owner]." Also, include the vehicle description and the VIN. The original warranty purchaser needs to sign this document.
Mail a signed copy (doesn't need to be the original) to:
American Honda Finance
ATTN: Transfers
PO Box 2225
Torrance, CA 90509
In addition, you need to send them a check for $50 to cover the transfer.
Call 800.999.5901 to verify the details. Note also that Honda extended the warranty (at least in my case) to 105,000 miles due odometer error.
cheers,

From my experience two years ago, when I called American Honda, they told me the warranty could only be transferred if the vehicle was bought from a private party. Seeing how I bought my CL from a dealership (not an Acura one), I just left the warranty under the previous owners name. The first time I brought it to my local Acura dealer for some issues, I just showed them the warranty cards I had found in the glovebox when I got the car. I said the dude (who appeared on the card) was my uncle and I just bought the car from him. After that, whenever I brought it in, they never even asked for the card. Worked fine for me. I dont know but good luck man.
